If you want a bunch of runes go to the Church of Marika where you got the Flask of Wondrous Physick.

Right beside the North side of it is a marsh. In there is a teleporter.

This will teleport you to a new location. Hop on your horse and run in the direction you are facing. Keep going as far as you can go. Past the dragon on the bridge. Up behind the giant tree.

At the end you'll reach a fort and a super massive dragon. Attack this dragon's tail. It will not fight back. Use a bleed weapon like a katana or flail. It will die for over 50,000 runes.

It’s hilarious how completely uninviting the general vibe of the game is. Everyone wants to kill you. All the time. Everywhere.

I found a place called Caled or something. Looked like insta death so I said nope after nabbing a grace.
yeah, haha! they placed an easy route into Caelid straight from the easy area west Limgrave…. Just to fuck you up seriously. I said before, the game devs are psychopaths and narcissists.

Oh yeah, re giant. There’s a whole bunch of them in Limgrave up on a plateau north of the soldier camp. Good early farming, and they ain’t that hard once you learn their moves.

Also the “elite” soldier camps in Limgrave has some decent early gear drops (armor and weapons). Farm for the armors.
There’s one camp to the right of the big camp (when looking on the map), go the grace at the south of the big camp, then east passed the sword statutes. Three horse dudes are roaming there, circle them with torrent and hit them until they’re knocked off their horses, then kill them. Then there’s three dudes and some wolves in the small camp between the large rocks.

Been playing Red Dead Redemption since it got that nice patch on PS5 to bring it to 4k/60fps.
I never played this when it first released but I've always admired it from afar - I played RDR2 when that released so I at least want to see how the first game's story plays out. Admittedly I am rushing a little bit through the main missions because I'm just playing for that reason. I did a few of the more interesting stranger missions though.

Afterwards I'm gonna jump straight to RDR2 for my second proper play-through of that. I originally played it on the Xbox One S which is the "worst" version of the game, so I'm curious to see how the resolution bump looks on the PS4 Pro version (running on PS5 of course) vs the One S. I know that as soon as I finish this time around Rockstar will announce a next-gen remaster just to spite me. It's been long enough!
Does RDR2 really need a remaster?!? I think it looks great and super detailed. Playing on Xbox X. Awesome game, som many details in everything.

It does not. A 60 fps patch on consoles would be nicer as it directly enhances the responsiveness of the game.

I finished Astro Bot.

It's not the longest game - or I've just been having too much fun binging it. Just an overall really fun game. Some of the optional challenge levels were also pretty darn tough, but I managed to complete them all. Being able to retry in mere seconds is such a boon for this game compared to many others.

Probably the best technical execution I've seen in years. Looks fantastic, makes good use of the PS5 controller, runs at rock stable framerates, has some nice physics simulation, excellent animation, banging sound track and stellar sound effects. The people who worked on this are really good at their jobs.

I think they could have made the boss villains of the game have more personality with some lines of dialog ala Mario Odyssey, but other than that it's just a fantastic game.

I’m debating whether I actually like the game :ROFLMAO:

I’m sure there is a story, but I’m not too sure. Some dude without a face mocked me for not having a maiden. Some magical chick with a gimpy eye offered to be my maiden. 🍆 I think there is a shattered ring involved that I need to find, maybe.

The places are inhospitable. Everyone hates me. They keep killing me, and I keep playing trying to pull just one more stat bump out. Fun! :ROFLMAO:

I’m actually digging it. It’s got a weird pull. You kind of want to see how you can end up wrecking all these dudes, as impossible as it seems at the moment.

I encountered the dragon at the lake and ran like hell. How is the world are you supposed to take on those things!

I’ve leveled up enough to start branching out from the gate ruins. I’m actually kind of digging the minimal/lack of cinematic story which I usually favor in games. Nice to just play for a bit and not have to worry too much about getting sucked into 30 minutes of dialog :ROFLMAO:

My little routine is to grind out against foes you can take to get a level up, then jump on the horse and just ride around trying to find graces to unlock. That at least unlocks various parts of the map, and then generally on the map all the little interesting places noted on it have some sort of item to find. (Assuming you can bypass whatever enemies are there) Once I realize there is nothing else I can do in that area without more skills, I just go back and rinse/repeat the level up grind.

Found this! Took me a couple tries to beat them, but finally did it. This will help with my modest little meat grinder farming I’m doing for levels. I can’t reliably beat anything except human foes.

Ah, I've only played it on PS4 so PS5 seems to have a 60 fps update already. In that case no need to do anything to it.
It doesn't, that's the thing. Playing it on PS5 is identical to the PS4 Pro, so it's still stuck at 30 fps and a kinda fuzzy 4k-ish upscaling that isn't very sharp. It's totally enjoyable and worth playing, but I would love to play it at 60 fps. The native 4k rendering the Xbox One X had at the time should also be fairly possible for the PS5 to achieve. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It doesn't need a "remaster" per se, but it would be nice to have a proper PS5 patch bring it up to snuff.

Did you go into the mining cave in the lake yet? I was expecting to find something there but it was just a few enemies.

I don’t think so.

I finally cleared the Grove-side Cave right by Elleh. Which has a beatable boss once you clear the wolf pack. Dude gives a talisman.

It’s hard to gauge progress because I don’t know what we should be doing. :ROFLMAO: I think the castle up north is a milestone, but I’m a million years from being able to survive that, I can barely get past the gate front with Torrent hauling ass.

I’ve been able to open a bunch of Graces today just cursing around with Torrent. There are some really intimidating areas down south.

Not a story spoiler, but I found a unique spot which you may want to discover in your own:
I cleared the tower in Minor Erdtee and that teleported me to some place called Lindell. Of course that just drops you at a grace immediately next to some platform with a fire breathing monstrosity that kills you in about 5 seconds. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah took a chance on the grove side cave and beat the boss there :D Will do more exploring tonight.

Hell yeah! It may not be some uber boss, but it’s a boss damn it!

I finally beat one of those giant trolls

Oh My God Omg GIF by The Office

Side note, I found that mine in the lake. I got down there and some walking ant eater looking bastards kept reck’ing me and I couldn’t portal out. I just hauled ass further down pass them until I found another grace. (Which I think was put down there as a miracle for me) There is some acid lake further down but I was like, nope and grace’d my ass back to Elleh. :ROFLMAO:

There are two different caves off of that body of water: one as you describe with just a few enemies, and one that’s a bit deeper, with more enemies and more materials to farm. The latter is nearer the dragon, naturally. :)

well basically, the unofficial but common knowledge and wisdom say that: going Limgrave->west Limgrave->weeping peninsula is a logical progression. Both in difficulty and gear/enemies/bosses.

Again. This contradicts what the game tells you at first when you arrive at the first graces. Buuuuut… this is how the game will work. It wants you to die and realize you’re not ready, so you go somewhere else, and then maybe you’re ready for that other thing.

A good tip would be to find and do all mines/catacombs of Lingrave and Weeping. You shall be greatly rewarded!
