TwoNotes GENOME!!!

Is GENOME's TSM Power Amp the same as what's on the Opus?

I've had a GENOME license from my Cab M+ but never tried it, and I'm planning to give it a try this weekend to mess around with NAM, but I'm curious to try the TSM Power Amp too and see how it compares to the Cab M+'s power amp sim.
Great question, it is indeed the same technology, however GENOME has the benefit of working at higher oversampling rates / sample rates! Let me know if there is anything else I can clarify for you!

Well, I cant reveal too much right now with our company policy an all — I will say this though: we have a tonne planned and I am certain you will love what we have in store! :)
Ross, I know you can’t go into specifics about future versions, but are preset scenes or snapshots something the team at Two Notes is currently considering?

Also, congrats on the new Silver Boy releases, some killer tones coming from that amp and cab combo!

Thanks for getting in touch and a super valid question! I can confirm it is definitely on our roadmap but we dont have a date in mind for this just yet — in tandem with this, spillover is essential and that is also being looked at.

Super pleased to hear you like Silver Boy — killer amp for sure and it was really awesome working with Dirty Boy on this!

It had been a while since using Genome, but loaded it up the other night after updating and have to say it was a lot of fun. Was getting some really great tones starting from a few presets and then tweaking. I really like the amp model (forget the name) where it's just the small amp chassis with push-pull or single-ended option, and minimal controls. That in conjunction with my Valvenergy pedals hitting the input yielded some sweet, sweet tones. :chef Looking forward to making some tracks with just Genome. It's a nice change from Helix Native, which I also enjoy though.

Awesome! That sounds like our poweramp component and will certainly work with some pre-amp style pedals for sure! Super pleased to hear GENOME is working out well for you!

Anybody find the CaliBro59 '59 Bassman weird?

The input jacks are rotated 90 degrees compared to other real 1959 amps. And if I use the Bright input 1, There is no sound without bringing up the normal volume, even though the channels are not jumped.

TBH, the bright toggle still seems to map to the wrong input, even allowing for the 4-hole input rotation.

Essentially, it's not possible to plugin into Bright Channel input 1 and use only the Bright Volume control.

EDIT:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the amp model is acting like the inputs are jumped (somewhat), even when they're not.

I believe the 5E3 Fender has some interaction between inputs even when not using both/jumping inputs. Maybe this is similar behavior being modeled?

Yes, I'm pretty sure the Bassman has a very subtle interaction between the channels when not jumped, much like a Plexi.

However, what I'm experiencing is no volume at all from the Bright Volume if the Normal Volume isn't used.

What I'm expecting is the following where the Normal Volume is off and the Bright Volume is on 5 :

Just wanted to follow up to say that I’ve been messing around with the TSM Power Amps and A/Bing against a NAM power amp capture I like, and I’ve been really impressed! It sounds and feels great.

I know you said before that it’s the same power amp model tech as what’s on the Opus (sample rate aside), but is what the Opus has an upgrade over the Cab M’s power amp sim? I definitely used the latter when I had one, but tbh I don’t remember liking it this much haha 😅 so now I’m curious!

Thanks for getting back to me. In terms of the Power Amp Sim between OPUS and C.A.B. M+, the code is the same — however, OPUS does feature a better input architecture which may contribute to a better response overall. Let me know if you need any more info!

Just wanted to chime in and give a thumbs up for the Bogner Ecstasy model in Genome (called Molly.) :love

It's the first plugin version of this amp that I've really enjoyed. I think it gets pretty close to that fat and chewy XTC flavour while still retaining enough of the Marshally pick attack and articulation I like about the real amp. I've not actually played a proper 100 watter in real life, but I know I really like the XTC model in the Axe FX. :bonk

I used my own IR and effects outside of Genome, so it was purely the amp model itself active and nothing else.
This will probably become my go-to thing to play through when I don't feel like firing up the actual Marshall and loadbox, etc.

Awesome! So pleased to hear it is working out well for you! General question to everyone on this thread - are there any other Amps you would like to see? Let me know and I will make sure our team see this! :)

The one area that I think could be expanded is the Marshalls and modded variants
Like Silver Jubillee , JVM
Or Freidman Jose , Steve Stevens , BE Dlx
The Brit crunch to Hi gain
