TwoNotes GENOME!!!

Haha that's a very fair point. I guess I've heard other modeling solutions that get much closer than what this feels like right off the bat. Although some of the presets are quite good. The Iron Maiden one felt great to me. I'm liking Genome overall so far.
So i beat this up for a while, my current preference in all things Digi... This won't send any of the others i use packing.

Order of preference for my use/taste

NAM or Tonocracy DI captures in Tonocracy
Kemper pedal(still surprised by that) split into Foh, Ox and Cab
UAFX pedal split into Ox and cab
Tonex pedal split into Ox and cab
Tonex into monitors
NDSp plugs into ox and cab
L6 metal pack
NDSp plugs
Genome
Helix
A5
Mercurial
Softube

The rest i haven't turned on in a while

Will this be getting regular content (amps/effects) updates or will it be all add-on packs from here?

Kind of interested to give this a try.

Actually given R.C has apparently bailed from Tonocracy / Atomic ... how long before he jumps on the Genome bandwagon :)
He bailed that fast? My God. That didn't last hardly any time at all, did it?

Loving all this extra competition in the guitar space. What a great time to be alive.

Frankly .... looks amazing ..... major bummer that the Opus pedal is hardware designed to not handle any efx / pedals before the Amp .... Amy confirmed this at TOP.

Modelled Gain and Tone Stacks for specific amps is great ...... all the imported AI Captures ie: NAM are processed as "static" Captures given that's what they are ...... see the 3 min 41 sec mark of the "features" video in Post #7 above.

But yeah ....... Tonocracy ???? ... it was nice knowing you.

I'd say A/B before thinking it's over.

I just put NAM Di captures in both and to me it was as clear as you kicking Tonex to the curb when re-Kempering.

In the end i think the question is will either make a pedal...and when.

Really? I wasn’t aware he was even doing anything for the plugin other than the initial launch videos, what’s he done that was considered harmful?
Look around here how he's perceived. Doesn't make for a good "evangelist" for a brand.
Particularly since folks seem to think his opinion is for sale.
Whether it is or isn't i have no idea not interest in.

Plus i don't wanna go deeper on what my take on him is.

At least with him you had an evangelist for the brand… who else they got?

* If * he has moved on .... regardless of how / circumstances .... it is a major *nett positive* for Atomic.

I checked out Genome for 90 minutes tonight and that was enough for me. Don't need it and wouldn't use it and it sure did look nice, but ... . Out of curiosity what is "A5" Ed? Also is the Kemper pedal you're talking about the "Kemper Profiler Player" pedal?

Before everybody declares Genome the winner in the battle against Tonocracy... how the amp sims compare? I mean, in Tonocracy they are very good (IMO), and Atomic has a great background in amp sims, being very well regarded in their time. Of course, Atomic also have a not-so-good background as a brand, with slow developing times, bad support, etc. But is TwoNotes getting there with amp sims?

But is TwoNotes getting there with amp sims?
IMO no. Tonocracy amp sims sound better.

Ultimately Genome gets many more things right - the GUI looks a million times better and more complete, more FX, full cab sim, supports NAM/Proteus/AIDA, lower price, better launch/social media presence, better customer support, proper manual at launch.

I didn’t think the Genome amp sims sounded good at all (clean stuff was fine but it always is), and the Tonocracy ones are quite good.

The issue for me about the Tonocracy amp modelling is:

- they aren’t clear in the UI when you are using an algorithmic model and when you are using a capture
- similar UI’s for them
- only single channels and without switches or features from the real thing
- IMO, as good as they are, I don’t think they’re better than other companies

When basically every platform is going to support open source captures, making any captures in a proprietary format like ToneX or Tonocracy feels like a bit of a waste of time. A NAM model will run inside way more software and be available to more people. I think eventually ToneX will have to support NAM.

Yeah, that´s more or less my point. I don´t think that a new plugin... WITH NAM SUPPORT!!!... is exceptional anymore. Hell, NAM itself runs NAM profiles (!¡), and you can use it freely with any other plugins. So I don´t see the breaking news in Genome.

For me, it´s just another guitar effects suite. Good. Nice UI, nice cab module, etc. But sub-par amp sims and few effects for the moment (as I could see in Leo Gibson´s review).

Not too interested in this, honestly.

EDIT: regarding AIDA-X and Proteus profiles, even when I´m a fan of GuitarML (I´ve chatted several times with Keith Bloemer, and I think he´s a great and talented guy), honestly nowadays everybody is going to use NAM models. It simply gives more accuracy and has a zillion more comunity profiles.
