This thread is POPPIN!!!
Which Creamback do you have? Creamback 75s might be a nice one to try outYou were so close to my rig with the Stealth and Peavey cab. Total missed opportunity. How's the jack plate/panel? Seems to be the cheapest part of the cab IME.
I'm honestly not suprised you aren't into the Greenbacks. I'm not 100% sold on them either but they've worked well enough so far. Thinking Creambacks since I already have one, or keep them in and never turn the presence control up past 9 o clock on the Stealth.

I think @KingsXJJ is a 65 fan as well? I got latched on to the 75s via Zack dudes vids as he always sounds great. Then the internet told me the 75s were terrible and the 65s were perfectI have a 65w sitting in my Katana
I'm still very much a speaker newb and have no idea what I really like and am starting to figure out that I can't really judge a speaker by sticking a microphone in front of it and listening.I think @KingsXJJ is a 65 fan as well? I had a 65 oddly enough years ago when I had my first white 5150iii 50 watter. I remember thinking is was good? this was at least 10+ years ago by now. Time flies!
Well, to be clear; when I say 75s here I mean the Creamback 75s. I had a quad of t-75s for years and I loved them. When they were punishingly loudI'm still very much a speaker newb and have no idea what I really like and am starting to figure out that I can't really judge a speaker by sticking a microphone in front of it and listening.
I started with a 4x12 of T75's, added an open back 2x12 with V30s to that and the V30s seemed to drown out the T75's but the V30s on their own were just okay IIRC? Yeah 10 years will make you forget a sound for sure. This was before I had any idea about Ohm's law and I don't know how they were wired at all.
I want to see if I can borrow that 2x12 with V30s from pops again. I'm sure it's been sitting in the same spot for a few of those years.
The last thing I want is a closet full of speakers. 2025 is the year of the purge.
No, I got you! Just rehashing my brief history of speaker ownershipWell, to be clear; when I say 75s here I mean the Creamback 75s.
...something I still haven't had the luxury to do with these Greenbacks in this cab, partly a big reason why I'm not so hot to change anything.Judging speakers is pretty much best LIVE with the band and loud. Not a home pursuit honestly![]()
Mirror.gifThe looks of these 212s are really cool. I am probably going to dump the Peavey logo though. The Invective 212 looks a lot like it and comes loaded with a V30 and Creamback 75. So many options and all of them a slight pain to pursue
I’ve tried both the CB65’s and CB-75’s. The 75’s have more lows and highs. They are also tighter in the low end and more sensitive. The 65’s have a more vintage GB tone. When I was using darker amps (Blackstar phase) the 75’s were a perfect fit. Now I prefer the CB-65’s for any high watt application and EVH-GB’s for lower or in my singular 4X12.I think @KingsXJJ is a 65 fan as well? I didn't even mention the Invective 412 which looks stellar to me, for some dumb reason. So many distractionsNo, I got you! Just rehashing my brief history of speaker ownership

Like a lot of others, I started out with V30’s. They work well on stage in a mix. But I grew tired of the brashness with my sensitive ears.
I firmly believe that finding the right speaker for oneself is one of the best things you can do to find your tones. It also makes evaluating gear a bunch easier for me. It takes some time and money but once you figure it out, things are a lot simpler.
The standard GB’s were brighter and a bit harsher to me. I couldn’t gel with them. How different are the EVH-GBs from, well; GBs![]()
