Saw this at TheOtherPlace, I’m extremely curious what was running through Paul’s head when he made this, as well as the first thought that ran through EJ’s head when he opened the case. :rofl

“Hey Eric! I know you really dig vintage Fenders, so I got the idea to mix a Mosrite with a Strat and kinda melt it a bit, want a sig line??”

EJ opens the case and curses for the first time in his life.

it kinda looks like it drew inspiration from the mosrite johnny ramone played but then got all gussied up and really uglified.

Everything is wrong. Massive truss rod cover and slightly oversized black dot inlays on figured maple. With a matching (ugly but PRS gonna PRS) headstock... that matches the fingerboard instead of the (misshapen) body. And tuning machine knobs in a light color that clashes with said headstock (why not black to match the truss rod cover and inlays, or chrome to match the hardware??)

May as well photograph it right next to a classy white Stratocaster to make it look that much uglier. :bag :rofl

I am doubtful of that guitars authenticity, esp at a guitar show which that looks to be. Seems like any jackass could throw a bolt on PRS neck on a crappy chinese import body and call it a "prototype". :idk

It’s legit, the same booth had a bunch of rare EJ stuff along with handwritten notes from EJ detailing them. Mostly prototypes from Fender.

Honestly, EJ might be half-way interested in PRS now that the Silver Sky exists. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I may be wrong, and EJ may struggle financially at some point, but man, I see him as having
way too much integrity to align with PRS. Not that those who do don't.
