The Very First Soldanos (and their owners: a list)

I think there should be a distinction between Gen X and Border-Boomers...

I almost said boomer, but stylistically strikes me more as a "I was a kid/adolescent" in the 80s type of pun. Also thought I'd let Gen Xers feel seen for once :sofa:rofl
I always thought calling it a Rectumfryer was a term of endearment? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As an avid consumer of super hot peppers, it could be considered a positive :love

Yeah we had terms like that for pretty much everything:

Rectifier = Rectumfrier
Ibanez = Ibeenhad
Mesa Boogie = Mesa Booger / Booger
Peavey = Skeezey / Pussy
Fender = Blender
Jackson = Jackoff
Kramer = Krummy / Lamer

And one particularly loathed amp of the time:
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe = Fender Hot Turd Deluxe

...come to mind :rofl

Whoa, blast from the past! Gary Hoey is on the list. Remember him?

I got to meet him a couple of times, unbelievably nice guy. He was actually the catalyst for me getting into serious guitar gear. I played the Rocktron Chameleon as my main preamp for over a decade and had the opportunity to chat gear with him back in the mid 2000s for a bit. He and I saw eye-to-eye on quite a bit, I hold him in very high regard as both a player and a person.

I prefer my X88ir. I had a Road king for a while and you have to wonder if the weight is worth the options when it’s only got one sound. My favourite channel switching head is still the VH4 way more use than a recto.

I never understood what the hell Clapton was doing with them.
Sustain, it was the best tone he had had for years. But he used that terrible mid boost and lace sensors that were just awful. The tone he got on Forever Man was probably what they were looking for ( Blackie tuned down to D and a Marshall.)
