The Annual NAMM predictions rumours thread 2024

I bet Tosin wasn’t predicting he’d be getting the ‘local guitar hero’ treatment from a random woman at NAMM :rofl

Never cared much for him
He was on a battle of the bands show as a judge w Alice Cooper , Gavin Rossdale , Lizzy Hale and one other person
An Tosin was pretty arrogant and snotty
Alice was a true gentleman positive about all the bands pretty polite and encouraging
Gavin seems disinterested
Tosin was just blunt and rude
Like ,hey how long have you been playing bro , oh ya it shows a bit
You got to do something different man I have heard this all before give me sum substance

I am like thinking who is the f**** guy and outside of math rock guitar fans who the hell had heard of him

oh Native Howl was great , but they were extremely technical certainly talented , that was not the band he insulted.
but I see your point they would be a hard sell on radio

I can answer…this guy…
I let the years of live experience and inability to turn a knob speak for itself.

I am not saying the guy is not a great player and talent , I am saying I don't personally don't like his playing or music and I don't think many outside of the tech guitar circles les would have a clue who they are

And I’m saying if you can’t take one hand away from your instrument while playing to turn your amp up there’s still learning to do no matter how much the “guitar community” thinks you’re the second coming.

ah missed your point on that then re watched agreed that is pretty bad

Because Javier stopped for a moment to adjust his amp?

The true display of musicianship is fiddling with your knob while making sweet guitar noises.
For a second I thought it was because they didn’t have monitors and/or a sound guy and had to keep compensating for the loudness of the backing track by adjusting their amps.

That’s just fine, what isn’t is Abasi having nearly a seizure motion to the other guy to turn him up in stead of just doing it himself.
Are we watching the same video? You mean the part at about a minute in where he's talking to someone and gesturing towards his amp with his head? I never would've paid any attention to that if you hadn't pointed it out. But I'm far from a professional knob fiddler. Wouldn't it have been more jarring in a demo where everyone is focused on his playing to start groping about for the right knob to twist and make sure you twist said knob just the right amount?

It ain’t rocket science to use left hand only on guitar and adjust the volume.

But you haven't played 198,419,213 gigs across 12 continents while continuing to hang out on the Internet forums with the plebes.

Could you post a video of you burning while fiddling with a knob? My search only comes up with a clip from a harmony central solo competition filmed with a potato.
I believe Ed is quite accomplished

But at the same time, I don't think there is any need to degrade Tosin's guitar playing ability.
