I just got this beautiful 2018 Fender AO 60s tele. I immediately changed the strings (9s to 10s) and swapped the stock saddles to compensated. Got everything set up to my liking, but noticed something unexpected.

Intonation seemed a little off. So I put the stock saddles back. Wow…it was a lot better. I wasn’t expecting that at all.

ive never really had a particularly bad time with stock steels on my '72. you might just think some guitarists just like to complain about telecasters

blue isnt my color, but thats a great lookin ride!

Is that an Ultra in Cobra Blue? I had an Ultra in Cobra Blue for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately they sanded the headstock too thin at the factory and it caused the tuner bushings to not be able to tighten all the way down on the wood which made a few of them loose when everything was tight. I had to measure the thickness with calipers and measure a couple of others I had to show them what was wrong with it. The dealer wanted me to take some off of the bottom of the tuner bushings to get them to tighten up. I refused and contacted Fender directly. Fender told me to return the guitar and have the dealer return it for credit. They were not too happy with me. I told them I am not keeping a guitar that has a manufacturing defect that affects being able to properly anchor the tuners. I ended up buying another one in the Alpine White finish. I really wanted to be able to keep that blue one. I told them if they sent me a new neck I would keep it. They didn't want to do that.
