Well I've tried both ways, the tilted angle claw works better for tuning stability in my case. Y'all do what you want to do.

If you were here with your guitar I could categorically prove that the CV set up is BS.

There's nothing to prove. His way isn't unique really, it's just taking into consideration stability and pitch needs. Anybody can tweak from there to get what they want. Whether that ends up angled or straight is up to the user.

You could always try the actual physics and facts not the attribution of results to something that has no bearing on the outcome whatsoever.

I ate me a Gummy late last night (yup, that kind) and as I was dozing on the Couch
