Trem flutter problems

I’m playing this show with a bunch of funk strumming and country licks - the kind of stuff where I want to dig in with a strong percussive attack - and I’m having so much trouble with pitch warble as my picking makes the trem flutter!

I also noticed certain notes resonate with the springs and cause odd sounds.

It’s been a while since I had a floating trem, but I’ve been playing this guitar since last summer and never had this bother me before.

The weird thing is I don’t notice it when I’m using digital through IEM, but I do notice it a lot when playing through an amp… not sure why that would be. I don’t know if I’m just noticing it for the first time because this is the first I’ve used this guitar with an amp? Or if it’s something about this music, or the new strings I just started using?

Weird… I’m going to be bumping the springs up from 3 to 5 today and see if that helps.

What are the guitar and tremolo in question?

I always put some foam behind my trem springs (and behind the nut too) to get rid of extraneous noise.

Pics!!!

I bet odds are you are getting more mechanical resonance using the amp. Springs on springs on springs. :idk

And yeah.... floating trems are a bugger. I don't think I could ever make my all-in-one
axe a FT equipped guitar due to the limitations.

Not in Steel Panther, I am not.

You can fix most things but double stop bends and going out of tune entirely if you break a string are still going to need to be mitigated for.

Even those cool unison bends end up a bit flat on a floating trem equipped axe.. And I love those things. :love

I meant to follow up but I came down with flu B today and I can’t even function

I’ll post pics when I’ve got the energy to take them
