St. Rock AMPERIUM LIVE

How are the fx in amperium? Mainly reverbs, choruses and delays? I used to have FM3 and now I only have an old Lexicon MPX-1 for fx. Fractal is too expensive but used amperium might be an option. I know hx stomp has good dx but it costs too much even used.

the best benefit is not to be the EU member to avoid hyper regulation -)
I didn't quite understand the essence of the restrictions in this article. And I'm not against additional regulation if it comes with additional rights or opportunities.
the problem is that these rules should apply for all the items imported in the EU.

Interested in the public opinion...

What should a hypothetical new Amperium be like?

I will be grateful to everyone who will find and spend their time describing their vision.

This is not a questionnaire, but some points that are of interest:
- size/form factor
- Screen: needed/not needed. if needed, what kind: color/not color. size? touch?
- number of foot switches.
- presence of a pedal
- what and how many controls (knobs/buttons and what)
- what indication is needed
- BT/wifi
- what connectors are needed (inputs/outputs)

Interested in different opinions... the more detailed, the better.
Does this mean you are looking to design a new unit? nI have been still wanting to buy one, but with what is going on it hasn't been available in forever.

Definitely needs a touch screen for on unit editing at least a 5" touch screen is a minimum
Skeuomorphic UI design. Makes it more intuitive to use for more people.
Better UI colors
Dual 1/4" inputs possibly one being and XLR combiner's-jack and allow Micrphone input with phantom power
All outputs should be balanced
2 XLR Stereo outputs and 2 1/4" balanced out (Think Stereo front of house and stereo monitoring or mono when preferred. assignable outputs.
Headphones out
all outputs need their own output volumes
More Midi implementation, Midi over BT, and USB C (definitely USB C)
If this is going to be a flagship model, then 5 foot switches for scenes or stomp mode, then two switches to move up and down presets/banks or songs/scene banks, and one to swap between modes. Scenses, stomp, hybrid, more scenes.
7 Foot switches total is a minimum for a flagship.

Way more flexibility in signal chain and signal path layouts. Multiple signal path layouts or fully customizable.
The ability t Run stereo amps or Amp profiles, Stereo cabs, and keep stereo path through appropriate stereo effects.

No pedal, as people can pick what pedal they want themselves, but included dual expression pedal inputs. Some won't ever use it, some will use one, others two. plus no worries if a built in one malfunctions. more professional this way.

Size I would shoot for QC or Hotone Ampero Stage size. would also keep the original Stomp and make both. Still prefer the editor on phone or even better a tablet. I think it's more versatile that way.
Definitely include audio interface at 48K as almost all other units do audio interfaces now.

The ability to RUN NAM Profiles, but more so parametric NAM profiles in order to not have a static snapshot
possibly a Superclone feature like Headrush

If you know what you're after you can probably dial it in. The key for me is actually the appropriate pre-amp sound first. If you get that right, then, you will be much happier with the results when you do add the effects. I use it live and I'd say they're fine. For recording, I mostly record dry (except for cleans+chorus) so it's not much of an issue.

I thought the unit size was good and it was one of the easiest units for me to use live with one line direct to FOH and another tova powrr amp/ real cab. My biggest issues were the UI was clunky and the multi fx and their controls were weird and difficult to dial in. Also while in theory the ability to mix and match preamp an power amps is cool in the end I wish there had just been a serting where you get just the amp with all the controls and options in one block.

I have tube preamps so not that interested in the ampmodeling unless it is crazy good 😀. I have been thinking about hx stomp but this is 20% cheaper

I have the HX Stomp as well. You might find the HX Stomp is more useful to you if you don't need the preamps in Amperium Live. Also, I do use Helix Native for recording, which you can get a discount for if you do get a HX Stomp more than the Stomp. TBH, once I bought Helix Native I don't use the Stomp much if at all. The Amperium Live is also not for sale right now, so, choice is limited here.

- size is ok
- screen could be a bit bigger
- NAM compatibility
- more fx: post eq can be a parametric one besides the graphic, post multiband comp, shimmer verb

Basically I’m satisfied with my unit. Excellent form factor, BT with phone app is a big plus. I think the hardware itself is ok, but if you can add NAM compatibility, that would be a huge improvement (considering that there’s only a few hw players for NAM). The direction with your approach to power amp improvements are great, if you can add the speaker driving options like Fractal can be a great plus to have more natural sound.
