St. Rock AMPERIUM LIVE

I mean you do know what's going on in Ukraine, right? Lol

I wouldn't be buying this product expecting constant updates. They are doing what they can and it's amazing they are even updating it as much as they have given the circumstances
It’s not that, I’m just making sure the St. Rock guys are still alive lol.

Hello guys! I’m getting deeper in my unit, and have 2 questions:
1. In the manual under Send routing there’s a DI option - but in my unit no. Is this a future plan or an old version?
2. U are talking about the master volume control. How is it working? Is it still only in software or is it a hardware adjustment possibility like the headphone level?

Just an IR tip: try the Middleton IR pack - amazing for metal. Not an ad, just personal opinion.

Interested in the public opinion...

What should a hypothetical new Amperium be like?

I will be grateful to everyone who will find and spend their time describing their vision.

This is not a questionnaire, but some points that are of interest:
- size/form factor
- Screen: needed/not needed. if needed, what kind: color/not color. size? touch?
- number of foot switches.
- presence of a pedal
- what and how many controls (knobs/buttons and what)
- what indication is needed
- BT/wifi
- what connectors are needed (inputs/outputs)

Interested in different opinions... the more detailed, the better.

  • Unit size is perfect, please keep it at that!
  • Screen size could be bigger in order to be able to edit from the unit itself. Color a plus!
  • 4 footswitches is fine
  • Smaller knobs maybe, No need for such big knob just for headphones, it could be replaced with a smaller one in the back of the unit maybe, instead the bigger knob could be used to change parameters so the Amperium would be more editable on the unit itself.
  • Editor software knobs could be more realistic without having to stop moving them in order to appreciate the changes.
  • BT
  • Keep the exact same connector configuration I/O please!!! (Maybe USB-C in order to connect with computer)

Would definitely spend money on an amperium software version. really liked your windows only version but I was only able to test it because my work environment runs on a different OS.
For me main points in a physical unit would be (in addition to your existing hardware): better converters, oversampling if possible? Your algorithms are already really nice on the amp side!

Not sure if you're looking strictly at UI/UX input or other stuff but a couple of things I think might be cool:

- allow it to operate as a USB audio interface when connected to the PC (48KHz preferably)
- For I/O, what's on the current unit is great but I would add a "Reamp Out" (like an additional "Send") that can be use for reamping at unity gain with the "Instrument" input
- SPDIF out would be awesome (48KHz preferably)
- enable a fully modular chain of FX
- UI-wise & screen, something like the Hotone Ampero Mini would be very cool and I guess easy for most folks to dive into; maybe not necesarily color but in the same vein function/display-wise
- on-screen tuner; FM3 has something like this which is pretty useful
- adjustable instrument input impedance would be a cool touch (1Mohm standard & maybe 2 other lower values like 10Kohm

Ability to load / run NAM profiles would be cool :sofa

After gigging with the current model, what would help with original Amperium Live for me is to separate the xlr output and headphone jack output volume controls.

As for new model of hardware Amperium (some stuff needs to be implemented on current model too);

- 2 models - one with and one without a pedal (I don't need a pedal as I use a Boss volume pedal for my routing)
- Separate Headphone and XLR output volume controls (helps live situation)
- Keep 2 XLR outputs!
- Dedicated Amp output (2 outputs would be a bonus)
- 5 foot switches, also change them to standard size so I can use pedal toppers
- Full midi implementation
- Gorilla Glass screen protector
- Larger screen to make it easier to see on-stage
- Customisable setlist switching (I would prefer C and D for going up and down)
- Full system backup/recovery option
- Confirm option before deleting stuff (like IR, made that mistake recently)
- NAM compatibility
- Dual amps
- More blocks before pre-amp
- Proper naming of all parameters for Multifx
- External expression pedal input

While I think that an iOs and VST Amperium would be great and reduce some sourcing problems (I hope you and your families are safe and that the hell you are living will end in the best way for you), here some ideas/suggestions:

- actual size is definitely ok, imho;
- a touch screen, in 2025, is definitely a YES. On the Headrush Flex prime there's a 4" touchscreen and, while it is quite small and not so easy to edit, it is helpful;
- 4 footswitches are ok, maybe an assignable dual function would rock;
- i prefer without a pedal, but with two expression inputs. It can be way more modular;
- the presence of a touchscreen might reduce the number on needed knobs, I like the layout on the Ampero stomp 2 (the 3 knobs under the screen can be assigned to direct access parameters in live mode, plus a master volume knob), but you could reduce it to one master knob and one master rotary/push encoder;
- bt/wifi: definitely yes. I'd prefer a web based editor, BT is fine for audio/midi ble, if you want to implement it;
- stereo in, stereo out (jack/xlr if possible with the option to go dual mono, one with cab sim and another without), S/R, aux in and midi in/out (mini trs is fine), two expression pedal inputs.

- NAM compatibility (two blocks in series would be perfect);
- something like superclones
would be gorgeous.

Besides this, because of the new EU rules, you might really benefit form an EU distributor.

new rules again? what is new?
you know, us europeans are well known for hyper regulation.

the best benefit is not to be the EU member to avoid hyper regulation -)
I didn't quite understand the essence of the restrictions in this article. And I'm not against additional regulation if it comes with additional rights or opportunities.
