Should I flog....?

I think it's kinda too much for me, that's really what it boils down to. It can do soooooo much, but it is complicated and takes time and energy to do things. Really I just want to throw a few pedals in front of an amp and call it a day. That's where I'm at 99% of the time.

I really don't enjoy how computer centric the eco-system is. Yeah the editor is really capable. Best editor around. All the rest of it.

I don't want to use it.
Well then get rid of it. And print out your post above and frame it and hang it on your wall, and read it every time you think about re-buying it, again. :bonk

It is definitely better having some fellow British humour in here to counteract against all the "yalls'' and ''I *could* give shits''.

* couldn't

As for flogging Axe3, if you have the VP4 still then you'll be right as rain.

I've been thinking a lot this week that if I am going to be tied to a computer, I may as well just use plugins. And previously I was annoyed by how fragmented plugins were, but lately I've been setting up a DAW template that runs different time based plugins on different aux buses (like reverb, chorus, delay, etc.). And that actually would put me in position to start recording again as that's already set up and ready to go.

Otherwise, amp and pedals with no screens makes a lot of sense. And cool as the VP4 may be, it's a screen I don't know I'd want to deal with. So things like the Boss pedals or Strymons are pretty cool here.

Being able to easily change settings on the plugin post recording is great

Should I flog my Axe FX III? I've got a Helix Stadium on pre-order, and I'm pretty sure it is going to be sick. I've still got a Helix kicking around, and I still really dig it, apart from just being a bit bored by some of the effects. I have the VP4, and I love it too.

Generally speaking, I just use my amps. They sound the best, whether through a cab or a loadbox.

Axe III .... I love it in theory, but in practice, I am not capitalizing on it at all.
What does the stadium have that you would make good of which the axe fx does not?

Or are you expecting better amp simulations from the stadium? Because I don't think we really know how these will fare vs fractal, from what we've seen so far.

Personally I keep an fm3 for recording. It's very easy to dial in what I need, when I need it. I see no reason to own a III though as most of its power would go to waste.

I’m from New England, and after living down south for 6 years y’all made it into my vernacular and it hasn’t left 😂

“Fuck all y’all” comes out of my mouth a lot 😂

Sell it before they announce Gen IV.

You're gonna buy bothe the Stadium and the Gen IV anyway.
Yeah the fact Cliff hinted at the next gen makes me think it's somewhat close? It would make sense to announce it before Stadium launches imo but not sure if it'll be ready.

I'll be very intrigued but I'm worried about the price tag. I could see it being $3000 in the states. I expect it and "understand" why it might be but as others on here are saying, you don't need to spend $3000 to get really good digital tones anymore.

Thinking about it a bit more, the issue kind of is... I have too much stuff.

Even my Gigrig G3, I only ever use it for analysing noise-floors of various pedals or combinations, coz I'm a fucking freak. But otherwise, I don't use that either; so that's on the chopping block too!!
