Setup questions. Ugh.

So played a bit this morning and it seems to like the C# and be at peace with it.

What I'm finding is that I ideally would want 3 guitars in this currently imaginary band:
1. C# Standard
2. Drop C# (one of my Vs is in this and it plays like butter \m/ ) for any songs in drop whatever tuning.
3. Something in B standard for the super lows. AKA Korn
What about just dropping the tuning with a pitch shifter for B standard? I wouldn't like to use it to record but live I would do it any day. Meshuggah does this so that they don't have to swap guitars when they go up or down a half step etc

I was headed this way with the Boss XS-100 but it gave a gross Boss sheen to everything. The Digitech Drop is slow and the modeling stuff I would like to steer clear of at least where pitch shifting would be applied?

Of course this all means nothing since we haven't even had our first jam session yet :rofl

On an unrelated but real pedals note; wired up my mono board for this band and put the NS-2 in place. Tonesuck AF

Set the FM9 in 4CM this evening. Pitch block (on scene ignore) down a whole step. Was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Little bit of drag when pitch was engaged but very doable. Super interested in how Korn goes over next week :satan

The new Boss pitch pedal sucked?

I think I might have liked the little brother a bit better. The full Whammy ripoff experience (and pricetag) coupled with the Boss sound had me feeling like it was not a worthwhile appreciable upgrade from the FAS virtual capo.

This video is oddly very timely. C# is the sweet spot for my ears.

Agreed. Dropped C# is perfect. The right amount of chunk, but without sacrificing all the cut and bite.

I’m kinda glad I was always too poor to get my guitar setup by a tech AND I’ve been anal about fret buzz etc - I learned a lot over the years just kinda going at it with the internet having my back lol

and then when have the money to pay a tech, finding one that does above average work is very hard.

So "fuck it, I'll do it myself".
