Potential Mesa Reissues? IIC+ and Dual Rec

The amount of "We need to talk about the botched IIc+ launch videos" in my feed over the weekend was insane. I could feel @la szum triggering from over here :bag :ROFLMAO:
I was hit by that same avalanche. Sure, the produced launch videos were underwhelming, but I'd hardly say it was bad enough to warrant the rant video responses.

The initial reviews from people who actually bought the reissue amp have been positive.

You basically have three gain stages to work with with Volume 1, Treble, and Lead Gain. The later amps, the Mark V through the VII all have preset values for Volume 1...
Yeah, I had a Mark V25 and it never really delivered the goods for me personally. I was always fighting to find that dry / tight and articulate Mark sound that JP used to get in the 90s, and I think now that the main reason for that was the pre-set Volume 1 level. I'm sure the whole smaller wattage and EL84 thing didn't help either.

Once I tried the IIC+ and the Triaxis in the Axe FX and was able to actually access all the controls properly that sound was right there!
It's really cool that they haven't compromised on having all the options available like they should be on these reissues. :chef

I've been getting a kick at all the commentary over the weekend. As expected, the "it doesn't sound like the OG" started flying immediately, based off cellphone vids. :rofl

Really, IDGAF if it's 110% every single grain of dirt spot on to the OG, they're sounding like a IIC+ more than enough to make me want the shit out of one.

I have a conspiracy theory: "Some of these guys bought the amp from the original batch planning to flip it and are concerned that they won't make as much as they hoped for if the hype is not enough" tin foil hat off!

Yeah, this is the truth.

I wanna fuck with one of these at some point. Now Mesa distribution in the UK is fubar right now, but I hope it'll get better in the coming years. Gibson have a London shop, so I wouldn't be surprised if eventually that will be the demo room for anything Mesa. They already have a few bits there.

I know it does more than Metallica but this sounds…..niiiiiicccceeeee

Listening back to this through cans - ok this is the good stuff. The uber tight chugs on the palm mutes combined with the vocal midrange bloom thing when he lets those E chords ring - Hetfield in a box.

All the metal heads needed was to hear Battery for a minute - all good.

So are all this having those squeel issues?

I’ve yet to see any actual “issues” shared

One guy did post a video with more moderate settings and a squeal but he conveniently avoided disclosing where he had the presence set

I can dial any of my marks in to have an oscillating squeal if I’m in the mood to be clowning…

All I can take away from all this is the amp must be pretty great if the biggest complaints anyone can muster is dissatisfaction with launch demos and the fact that if you act like a goof with the settings you get some noise :idk

I believe that might have been my video and I didn’t really think of showing the presence.
It was on 5ish. The whole point of the video was to respond to people who where talking about it due to another video that was posted by a member that had the lead master very high. Some where saying that it was a microphonic tube etc but I wanted to show that it did go into oscillation, and not necessarily in the absolutely most extreme positions (everything on 10). Regardless the amp sounds great. I’ve owned several marks and this might be my favorite so far.

There are more videos posted of that issue. I tried to replicate in my Mk III and could not, even with the presence on max
