I am going to post something very personal from back them. In 1991, I was 23 years old and a student at a music school. I had my own projects, but arranged a friend´s songs. The best friend I have ever had. Unfortunately he smoked heroin and died in 1993 from an OD. It broke my heart.
His name was Bo, singer and guitar player. We would record and overdub in Tascam Porta One. My left hand playing Roland SH101 whose cv was triggered by the rim out from our TR707. Right hand my Korg DW6000. Then we would borrow his little brother´s Roland S10 sampler and overdub. Here he is in a couple of faded and flawed recordings. I was into electronic genres but really liked his tunes and his voice, so it was a pleasure making them for him, often with a few guests on guitar, singers or snare. Here he is. May he wait for me in Folkvang.
