I had thought of using a delay pedal to make my sound "fuller" for the lack of a better word.
Just as a beginning point from where you can start adjusting knobs by ear, here's what AI gave me when I googled getting a fuller sound with a delay. "To set a delay for a fuller sound, aim for a moderate delay time (around 100-300 milliseconds), a low to moderate feedback level, and a mix level that blends the delayed signal with the original sound well, ensuring the delay adds depth without overpowering the primary sound;"Yes. I want it to be subtle.
I don't want it to be prominent in a band mix.
Delays are versatile and you can set them for the different vibes of songs. Another nice effect to try with a delay is "slapback". I mostly use delay for a Rockabilly or early electric blues slapback effect. I set it for a short delay time maybe between 90-130 milliseconds depending on the tempo of the song. I set the feedback low, for a single, quick repeat that echos right after the picked sound. It sounds great with edge of breakup and mild breakup.
For delays I like to use a Ibañez AD-9 or a Boss DD-3T.
