SDE-3 Incoming

The Guitar Center definitely has their thumb on the used pedal market.

Don't these sell for $200 brand new? :facepalm

Oh yeah. GC doesn't float their prices against new prices at all, so quite often there's pricing issues with sales.

There's a GT-1000CORE at my local store that has been sitting for close to a year because they mislabeled it as a full GT1k and had it priced for like $700 used. It seems like they finally dropped the price to $500 but used Cores go for under $400 now.

If SDE doesn't pan out for you, I suggest the Strymon DIG if you are going down the digital rabbit hole :chef

The OCD part of my brain is still fired up about compact Boss pedals which I have been slowly collecting used or on sale.

I'd love to get a DIG but that same stupid brain would have me start trying to get a "matching set" of Strymons.

I thought about the Core for about 5 seconds mainly because the size and functionality. Thing is, if I'm not using an FM3 for FX; ZERO chance I'm buying a Core for that same purpose.

I definitely gotta check this pedal out. Initially I was keeping a note in my head about the size of pedals going on my board, thinking “I need to ensure I leave room for a big ass delay pedal”, thinking it was either going to be the bigger SDE 3000 or 2290p, but with the amount of dirt pedals alone that might not be an option anymore and I don’t want a tiered board, the SDE 3 might be a necessity!

It's a great wet sounding delay that still stays out of the way. The only reason I haven't went full blown dumb and ran it in stereo is because I got it right when roof gate was happening.
:bag
I am prepared to have a Multiwatt/Mark delay sandwich that will have me crapping myself :rofl

It has a ton of features and functionality packed in but in mono; it works great as a 3 knob delay and keeps the board real estate to a minimum. If I had the full size; I'd go for the EVH version to get 3 amps at the push of a button mode :love 2290 is still on my radar for no good reason as well.

I got one of these too last week. It's fantastic, even running it in mono. It definitely has more personality than my DD3 did, and while I love the Eventide Micropitch for all the stuff it can do, the SDE3 is fantastic for keeping it simple in a live rig.

I’m fine with mono for a live rig!

And yeah, the 2290 will remain on my radar until I’ve had one in hand and gotten to use it and even then, it’ll have to really push me away from it somehow for me to not keep it. I’ve got too much love for the OG, despite never using one myself.

Only thing about the 2290 that gave me pause is how I would switch it if I was using it live. The mash 2 buttons at once then once again thing looks super clunk. If it's just for home fun; no care in the world on that concern \m/
