On the fence and cant decide QC or QC mini - fell over the fence and going mini

The big is not really that big. If I wasn´t a clumsy big foot, I´d go QC anyway. But sadly I am, so I´d really go for the Mini, and get happy about the supposed quieter signal and the extra portability for simple gigs that don´t require many footswitches.

Is the quieter signal a fact? We need to establish this.
No idea but after seeing people talk about it I started digging and it's definitely an issue for some users.

Now I dont know if it is a device issue (that was even maybe fixed) or a user issue. I get the same noise with tonex software, especially with high gain. Put a gate in front, problem solved 🤷‍♂️

Comments on this video say the power supply on the QC is not grounded which is pretty comical if true.

It was hard to do but I emailed my rep and passed on the $200 discount. Now I will stare at my Sweetwater cart with the mini until I have a breakdown.
You made the right choice. While you wait for the Mini, distract yourself by finding a good footcontroller.

I was looking at the $22 Mvave chocolate plus from Temu
The Mvave is a lot of bang for the buck, but only 4 (slightly lesser quality) switches. Still, wireless, rechargeable battery. I never got the expression pedal input to work, but maybe user error?

I'm looking at your original post and noting that you don't need a lot of switching in the first place. Mvave might be a good pairing for you when you want the QCM on the desk for programming, etc.

The power supply isn’t grounded and that’s intentional.

Idk anything about electricity, im sure there's a reason but I find that pretty wild. Releasing an $1,800 product with inherent noise issues (pretty bad noise too based on that video), knowing about it and intentionally not addressing it. Im sure there's more to it but damn.

Yeah I really won't even need a controller. But then again I dont even need the QC 🤷‍♂️ will see how it goes once I start using it.

A case will be a must though. Haven't seen anything fitted for the mini but havent looked much.

The League No GIF

Shit im pretty late to the party. But yeah that was the main selling point on the mini, people saying there's less noise. Id rather be in a queue and wait for that.

Plus the lock on power cable seems super cool even though it might not apply to me.
