On the fence and cant decide QC or QC mini - fell over the fence and going mini

I stand by my statement. They may have intentionally chosen to go ungrounded with the power supply, but they clearly did not understand the ramifications and properly design the rest of the hardware to account for that.

It seems like they did with the mini, which only reinforces the point. Lessons were learned.

But is the mini different?

I'll have to confirm the noise when mine arrives in 2028.

As stated already, just like stomp boxes, the adapters are floating ground and do not have dedicated earth grounds. This is in an effort to avoid ground loops but everyone's setup is different. If every pedal on your board had an earth ground, it would be nasty to troubleshoot ground noise and loops.

CIOKs, similarly are not earth grounded on the barrel side but are grounded up to the metal chassis. Perhaps the short pigtail RCA wiring is their winning formula or the quality of their PS switching.
My audient ID44 also has floating ground but I opted for a laptop power supply 3 prong that at least grounds it to the brick. It did reduce noise

Right, but again I'm asking you to look at the two lines I quoted. They reinforce this unsubstantiated notion that the wallwart, specifically, causes the original QC to be noisy. I'm just not buying that.

I have no doubt that NDSP made improvements in designing the QCM, nor do I think that's a bad thing. (It helps that I'm still very satisfied with my QC's.)

I don't think it is at all in question that the "wall wart" in conjunction with other design choices was a source of noise for many first gen QC devices. You can't say specifically one piece because it is part of a system and they could have reduced noise with the same wall wart, reduced it by providing a ground, or reduced it in other ways.

Definitely cool and interesting but for plugins only. Wont get anything else the modelers offer.

There's a plugin for everything however. Except captures, actual modeling and tweaking I suppose.

Steam decks are also like $400-$500 used for the old ones I believe. Might as well get the QC nano or AM4 at that price without the hassle.

Now maybe a jailbroken cell phone could have windows added with no restrictions on the cheap? Idk

It was worth the $1400 imo. This YouTuber is a fuckin idiot lol PLEASE tell me how often the flagship goes on sale and then tell me you think the mini will be reduced to 900.
I've been waiting four decades, and that '82 Lamborghini Countach hasn't gotten any cheaper.

I wish this guy were right, but alas. He is a click-baiting moron.

I watched this earlier this week. Even left a comment. The QC did drop like $200 before it went back up due to tariffs.

He is not wrong.

I still caved. Now I have to sit here and wait forever with this charge pending with the money sitting in my account 🤣 they better hurry.

I bet that doesn't last much longer than your Stadium did!
I watched 2 or 3 of his videos and other than his illusion on thinking an item that is selling out in every shipment somehow magically getting blown out 10 months down the road; he had some good takes if I am being honest :ROFLMAO:

But are those "good takes" delivered in that same insufferable voice? (I'd also comment on the tired memes, but you know, glass houses...)

Is there an option to get a text-based digest emailed at the end of the month?
