NMD: Axe-Fx III MK II Turbo (J.F)

It's not eve close to warming up at the volumes I play, the chassis remains a cool room temperature.
One V30 produces 100dBA 3ft away at 1W, I'm playing at about 70dBA 3 feet away.

Well, that changes everything.

I'm thinking about whether I should purchase a shallow 4U ABS case, seems to be the most common choice.
The setup in the image weighs 55lbs (25kg), about as heavy as a JVM410 head.

Sounds like you only play at home. Have you considered something like this? Takes up basically zero space relatively speaking.

Thanks for sharing that! I don't need it at this time (don't know about JF), but may in the future and good to know about this option!! Price is easy on the wallet as well ;~))

Oh come on, it's at least got updates you suggested in the last couple of years!
Well, other than that and of course the UI for Dyna-Cabs, not a whole lot of movement on that front.

I posted a lot of low hanging fruit in 2021 in this thread. Now you can of course argue that not all of them are good ideas worth implementing, but there's a lot of small stuff that is not particularly difficult work. I just went through the list and it's still only two items on that list that have been implemented since then - one is the "go back a block" feature, the other is how some of the pages are sorted. There's also a lot of good ideas from other people in the wishlists that go largely unnoticed.

I wish Fractal hired an UI developer who is as driven at improving usability as Cliff is at improving the modeling. At this point I don't expect this to change for current gen products and just hope that the next gen Fractal does the onboard operation much better. I assume that's where they are focusing their efforts atm.

I've recently considered just jumping off the modeling train and coming back when the next gen releases. I've been having a pretty great time just playing through my BluGuitar Amp 1 + real cabs + a few Strymon pedals where I played more than I tweaked. The 1000s of options every modeler offers have been losing their luster and I find myself gravitating to a narrow subset of it.

This topic deserves its own thread.
My way around it is to approach the modeler as an amp with very simple presets, ie. intentionally not building kitchen sink presets.

You are doing it the same way I do it. Very simple presets. Overdrive up front, Amp, Cab, EQ in back of the cab in case I need it.Then very simple delay and verb afterwards. Can turn on delay and overdrive with one toe switch. Turn off verb separately with another switch. I run a real wah in front and have an expression set up for volume swells, hit the toe down button and it controls the delay level and feedback levels.

New rack case, 12.5" edge-to-edge, fits perfectly on my 14" deep oversized 1x12 DIY cab.
My first case was 16" edge-to-edge and looked like a massive Stonehenge on the cab, it bothered me a lot.
Most 4x12 straight cabs are 14" deep, while slanted cabs are 11" at the top, consider that when buying a rack case for guitar gear.

Pardon the plain Jane room, I don't have pretty lights and shit to make it nice for the camera.

How do you expect people to look at pictures of your stuff if you don't have pretty lights and shit to make it nice for the camera?
