Yeah, the purple is slick. I really like my SSS NJ. I need another guitar like a need a hole in the head, but if these ever pop up as a SDOTD, I won’t be able to resist.
 
These have always been a good bet for the money because the playing experience is going to work ( flat fingerboard and big frets). But don’t look too hard under the covers because it’s dog rough. Way worse under the hood than any MIM Fender.
 
Can you elaborate? Hardware, bridge, pickups? woods? all the above?
Quite good wood but very rough inside trem cavity and neck pocket. low quality electrics and budget G&B pickups. Functional hardware but you would have trouble if it gets any cheaper.
 
Most that I played were pretty decent, but something about them looks really cheap. Crazy to think they're already out for 10 years though!
