I finally did it... I bought my first PRS :clint

I've wanted a PRS for 20+ years now and after what was probably the worst year of my adult life... I decided to treat myself now that it's finally over.

I spent most of the year eyeballing SE's of different flavors and almost pulled the trigger on a Paul's Guitar SE. I never sealed the deal because I knew that while an import PRS would be nice, I'd still be longing for a USA built.

Several weeks back a 2004 CE popped up locally and I watched as the owner gradually dropped the price a little at a time. When the the guitar hit $1300, I went to take a look at it and offered him $1200... he took it. :pickle

Last summer the pickups were swapped out for a set of 57/08's and the owner changed out the 5 way rotary for a three way toggle. He included the original pickups and hardware in the sale as well. Guitar has a few small battle scars but is in great shape for a 20 year old!

I'm now the 3rd owner and I guess the original owner was the one who sanded down the finish on the back of the neck... feels great, just not something I probably would have done had I bought it new.

On to the pics!

I was gonna ask about the neck, but I read the description after looking at the pictures.. as was the custom, in my time.

Do you have any inclination to test the original pickups as well? (Iirc that would be an HFS bridge and… not sure on nexk)

I love the crap out of my semi hollow CE24… honestly probably my #1 these days. But it’s one of the newer “ less gooder” ones (honestly I still like it at least a little bit more than my core cu22 though)

One of these older CE24s is very high on my short list though, and easily seem to be the best value for a USA made PRS
