I’ve been looking for a new guitar for the last weeks.
I went to the UK guitar show but also decided to pop in to a couple of shops nearby (Fair Deal and GuitarGuitar).
I had my eye on a 2nd hand Charvel USA Style 2 with Floyd Rose but when it came to playing there were a couple of issues with it.

Was In GG and pick the PRS S2 up and really liked it - there was also a 2nd hand Dusty Waring which was also nice but I preferred the open pore finish as is very resonant and lovely to play acoustically.

The 85/15 LT pickups are nice sounding - I would prefer similar voicing but a little more output but nothing a boost can’t solve.

Setup was very good (rings out nicely, action good) and the term was set up to float (4 springs in back). I may put a vega term in it ( that was one of the ideas I had) but it performs really well as it is.

Overall I have to say these models seem to be very good value for the money (it was on sale but PRS always seem to be on sale).

Congratulations! That finish will wear very easily, but I had the singlecut and loved it! Traded up to a core.

That’s what I’m hoping for - a natural relic 😂
Crazy how the money for a relic job is more than if I was to sell something that has naturally been used.

Happy NGD! I dig mine and have gigged it a bunch. It always makes me smile. Seymour Duncan Jazz/CustomCustom set, Mann bridge upgrade.

Nice - I am enjoying mine it plays very nicely even through it doesn't gauge strings on. I may put a vega trem on it but we shall see.

So I ended up selling this guitar - just started having problems mainly do to do with Tuning stability. Even slight bends on E and A strings would throw it. I expect some drift over but it was going a fair bit out.
Had it professionally set up, nut looked at (but not replaced). but still issues that I was tuning more than I was playing.

The springs they use for the trem block are too big for the block so trying to remove one required pliers which I've never encountered.

Such a shame as was nice to play and had a nice resonant tone acoustically.

I'm sure it is a one off as they seem quite popular.
