Saying goodbye to the RG655

I really, really like this guitar. It pretty much plays itself, perfect in every way (except I hate Floyd Rose bridges). I changed the bridge pickup and potentiometers and added a much better treble bleed. It’s a real metal machine.

It’s just not my style though. So when my bud offered his amp for it, I considered it for a while and agreed. I tossed in a Boss NS-2 and a set of pickups to make the deal more even for him.

He’s driving through this evening and he’ll be the new owner of the RG655. It’s definitely more his style of guitar.

I may come to regret this one.

Seems like a cool trade. I did a repair on a H&K amp for a friend some years ago. Pretty sure it was a 50watt but don't remember the model. Pain in the ass to work on but it sounded really good as I recall.

it’s the terrible, terrible tone. Not sure if a block solves that or not.
Pickups solve that.

But, it went from "I really, really like it, it plays itself, perfect in every way", to "I don't like the bridge on it, and I don't like how it sounds".
So, good trade.
