Like I said in the other thread, Fractal has already won the spec/raw power race. I want him to talk about how he's going revolutionize how you use it. I'm looking for the same sort of UX leap Line 6 made from HD to HX and now to Stadium.

Yeah I would have to think that has to be the next step. If it's "just" more powerful....cool, but I feel like there is more potential to be had.

Hopefully they announce soon because I don't see people getting both a stadium and fractal on launch

Ya, I’m not really sure the ability to run 6 amps and 9 reverbs in a patch is what’s lacking in fractals approach. You’d already have to have a pretty insane patch to max out the Axe 3

I’ll always welcome more DSP from any company as there’s really zero downsides to it. I’m really hoping they dont follow the Kemper approach and just add more power without any other changes, that will actually look like a gameboy.

If the AxeFX IV has more cpu power, great, but cpu power is not what makes the Stadium so interesting. I think he has it backwards and the AxeFX IV could actually benefit from some ideas from a gameboy.

Yeah, you take my point. I'm just saying focusing on cpu power may be missing the point of what appeals to people about the Stadium design. In the same way, the appeal of the game boy was largely the user experience.

Cliff seems to have a grudging respect for Line 6 (and the feeling is definitely mutual) and is usually not reactionary to what they do. He has less patience for the other competitors in the market, tho, and is not above getting petty with them.

Interesting post from Cliff, could be interpreted a few different ways.

If he’s saying fractal is leapfrogging into a new UI/UX scheme beyond what is out there already from competitors, I’m intrigued.

If he’s saying their next gen is gonna be massive horsepower with the same Atari UI/UX they’ve had for over a decade now, we’ll…that’s not really going to solve problems for me and I doubt really pulls in any new demographic. Not too many people running out of juice in Fractal land these days.

Perhaps it’s both. We will see.
