New synergy amp

Yeah it is hard to say - I’m not sure if the structure and reactance are analog components? I’m guessing they are and then they if goes to the digital power amp (xlr) and EL84’s
The reactance you can’t change in the software
But the Structure you can so that option has to be part of the direct signal one would think structure,Ir and low hi cut are all part of the software component

Where you get this info?
Are you saying there is digital poweramp sim before the IR?
My current understanding of the product is based on Synergy’s statements regarding how the Syn20IR works (they explicitly state the direct power amp is emulated), comments Dave Friedman’s made regarding how the Synergy back end works (which is used in his products also), and the Astro 20 info, along with info from the TGP mega-thread on synergy stuff.

Direct quote:
The SYN-20IR boasts a powerful digital engine dedicated to its four onboard impulse responses (IR) and power amp simulation in the most accurate and natural-sounding way.
It doesn’t have a reactive load built-in, just a resistive one to soak power, then it does A/D on the preamp and it’s digital thereafter. The power amp might as well not exist in direct mode.

Check…if they use the words “poweramp simulation” themselves..it’s probably so ;)

But the interesting thing is those structure modes and the reactance works when going direct , one guy who has one says you can definitely hear its influence
So then that has to be a digital chip in the amp
If it works when plugged into a cab and Direct

I think it’s the same guy who did the DZL stuff the VHX according to tone talk
Dave said he is a genius
The Astro is getting new updates soon to

Still honestly admire the Synergy concept, but it's a tough buy-in when you're already loaded with amps and have no reason to fork out that much cash for more.

Hence, I'll try and forget about it - unless they come up with a Sunn pre and call it...

(drum roll........)

Module T 😂

*badum tsssss"

All you need to know is that the Synergy are preamps and not an approximation and not subject to frequent software updates where accuracy is claimed to the previous update.

You will play more.

I'm pretty sure it works as you described, based on official product descriptions.

About the power amp they say.
The SYN-20IR offers unique controls for STRUCTURE and REACTANCE that tailor the response of the amp's all-analog power section.

About going direct they say what you reported about using a poweramp digital model.
