The brown face reissue is interesting, if they get it right. Price is a bit steep, but still. A cranked brown Fender is really something special. I just played a Suhr Hombre at a friend's house last week and my wallet cried the entire time.

Pricing is interesting on the Super - more than the ‘59 Bassman 4x10, but less than the ‘57 Custom Deluxe. $2500 for a well built 40 watt 2x10 with trem doesn’t seem bad to me at all, and price kind of suggests that it may be a step up from standard Fender PCB reissue? Or maybe those older designs have been around long enough they save on stockpiled parts/economy of scale, etc.

That’s the one I’m interested in. Could be awesome. At the same time, a Suhr Hombre would be the perfect sweet spot of a brown/blonde Fender. I’d love to play one.

I’d never buy it, but it is exciting to see a brown amp pop up, as they seem to be largely MIA in the modeling world. I think fractal has a few.

Digital tweed FR powered speaker, eh? Sounds like they couldn't get a digital representation of a tweed to work well enough in the Tone Master setup so they just made it "look" classic.

I've played one of these a little recently, though not cranked. Clean it is still exactly as described -- between tweed and black panel. If anything, I'd say its a liiiiiittle more tweed-leaning than the modest in the Fractal:

Fender IMO would be better off re releasing 5or 6 of there classics cutting down on weight and price and they would sell loads.
Instead of keep bringing out lots of new models year in year out.

Yeah in Europe I can buy a custom built amp with a modern feature set for similar money to a basic ass Fender PCB design combo.

I’d love to see a new rev of the Fender Super Champ x2 with updated modeling and effects.

Killer little tube platform that’s handy in size and the power section got nice and juicy at reasonable practice volumes.

FWIW the US pricing isn’t great for what we’re getting, but better than what you’re dealing with.

I’d personally recommend chasing down a used silverface for not much more money…and it’s a much better amp.

Prices on the Princeton and Deluxe that I both bought not too long ago are 50%+ higher than when I bought them. I wish I had snagged a Super Sonic back then.
