New amp; inbound. FINALLY \M/

I'll never own an Engl. Too much $ here and nothing about them speak to me. I wanted a Fireball back in the HC days. The more I futz with amps the more I realize I like either DUMB single channel thought processes or Mesa Boogies. Fractal is for when I am wanting to overcomplicate things :pickle

Most of my fx loop problems seem to also be related to the fact that I LOVE running channel volumes up high and the gain down below noon. FX loop is clip city. I did some kludging about and go the channel volume down around 11 oclock ish and with the FM3, got some decent results. Too much tweaking on the FAS input and output settings though.

Gain staging mine was a bit of a PITA as well, and I didn't have my channel masters any higher than noon.

I'll have to try my stomp again and see if that was causing any of my problems. The clipping indicator is pretty small on the stomp.

I hope not cause I like the channel volume up higher.
Channel up at about max, gain about 4ish on OD orange is :satan You can do it in other ways but just not as lively. Standalone preamp or licensed Synergy module that actually played nice with effects would be :love

I tend to run the channel volumes around 1-2 o'clock on both channels. I'll check it later and let you know.

Yeah it was clip light city on the FM whenever the channel volume was up.

Sounds like you could use a Dumblater or however it is spelled. Basically it was/is a device to adjust levels for an effects loop to be used with an amp that doesn’t have pedal friendly loop levels.

You know, more complicated which is just what you are looking for. On the plus side, it might be nice to have with an early SLO as well since they suffer from poorly placed high output loops.

So awesome you’re scratching that JVM itch JT!

Slap that fucker at EOB with an OCD set to mild drive to add some hair and then a DM2 style analog delay and rejoice. Love me some dirty cleans on the JVM with an analog delay.

I’ve started defaulting to using no OD at all on the OD channels.

I keep the master parked at 10oclock, then push channel volumes to 11ish. I crank the gain up on Clean/Crunch channels, but never push the gain past 11oclock on the OD channels. Does the 210 have two masters volumes that might help with the volume matching between channels.

Build you a simple mono board and send everything up the gut, old school style. I never use the loop, but generally because if I’m trying to get a bunch of post fx it’s only when loading it down to the AxeFx. In cab slapping mode I go straight through the front for everything.
