As manic and wishy-washy as I definitely am with gear; I hold no ill-will towards the JVM The FAS models are so darn good and I had to try one in person. There's no question in that regard. We'll see what other self-inflicted dumb crap happens down the road.

I feel ya, Man. I did that whole dumb dance with Fryette/VHT (which was a continuation of
my past less than stellar experience with Fryette/VHT) and while there is nothing "BAD"
about them (pun intended! l ) I am now realizing they are maybe not my bag, and that
I fully and truly enjoy using other amps (and amp models).

Sometimes we kiss a Frog and it stays a Frog. Sometimes we kiss a Frog and it turns into a
Prince(ss). Not kissing frogs (metaphor for gear) is really not an option, though.

Was it that much different than the Fractal JVM models you loved so much?

I LOVED the power section. And I loved the heavies in this thing something fierce \m/

2 loops (3 if you count series, parallel and insert options individually) with neither playing nice with FAS without whatever magic bullet I/O settings I never found as well as being forced into using presets if you want to channel switch between clean/crunch and OD channels was just dumb.


Dual masters where the level on crunch channel will never work for a mode on the OD channel is just not ideal. Correct me if I am wrong, please; Karl 60lb amp will never leave my house.


I never, EVER throw out the "I GIG SO BLAHBLAHBLAH" card; but it truly does have me always analyzing EVERYTHING through that lens. Unfortunately. The FAS models are KILLER and all those obvious benefits greatly outweigh the digital negatives that some might have on their list.

I have purchased a dead frog, dissected the fucker, replaced half of the guts like a modern day Doctor Frankenstein and made it into a leather clad (ok Tolex) dominatrix bitch that makes no apologies and takes no prisoners as she peels paint off the walls and sends cracks through the concrete foundation. Does that count?
