I think of if I were to get another JVM I’d get the 205H so I could run the 1960ax cab. 50 watt head, 100 watt cab. FAS for effects and any additional amp channels.
Usually that‘s my favourite OD as well, but with the JVM I actually preferred a Tube Screamer. The JVM can be a little single-coilish-stringy and the brighter voicing of the SD-1 exaggerated that while the TS kept the stringiness under control.SD-1 is king![]()
With the JVM you might want a gate in 4CM, though. There‘s some really useful information about the FX loops of the JVM in Santiago‘s AMA thread.Noted. Thank you sir \m/ I never turn off my loop anyway, just the effects in it as needed.
I plan on it! SD-1, OCD, RAT and Klone on the ready![]()
You know, I've tried my fair share of pedals and I 100% agree, it has the perfect amount of low cut filtering.SD-1 is king![]()
So you’re just using it as a boost/EQ?Mine has the diodes removed so no crackly choking low voltage square-wave rasp underneath the tube distortion, just pure tight goodness.
Yes.So you’re just using it as a boost/EQ?
That’s literally how I’m running my 2203 patch on the FM3 (Super OD boost in the preamp section).Yes.
Yes.
The serial/parallel loop never gets to 100% serial. The solution is just to use the other loop but you have to be careful with channel volumes when you do that. Why they’ve never fixed this after all these years is beyond me.I do remember there was some weirdness with the loop but I can't remember what it was.
Let's not get hasty!Hey…you where in a “gear funk”….
This feels like being a drinking buddy with your AA session leader….
And there’s nothing funky about that amp either!
Whats next…you order a NDSP product?
Have you looked into installing a choke? I'm told this takes a lot of the hiss out. If I ever get another JVM, I'm going to do this.I'm braced for noise
There are a TON of mods on the net for this amp. The fact that I am deadly (in the wrong way) with a soldering iron combined with the fact that I like all the "wrong modes" in the FAS; my only initial plan is to stfu and play the darn thing when it gets hereHave you looked into installing a choke? I'm told this takes a lot of the hiss out. If I ever get another JVM, I'm going to do this.
