I can only go by the early launch
The DZL Vh4 ,Rectos and SLO
Were not good

The Friedman BE/ HBE , JCM800
6505. 5153 ( gold EL34)
Were really good

That said the V4 and Herb and SLO all were redone and replaced a couple of updates after I sold it

I remember them having two distinct amp models: A mid-sounding Recto and also a weird-sounding Trem-o-Verb.

No, the Blackmore (ENG Rainbow). I’ve been addicted to those - particularly #5, but also the cleans - since the day my first (working) QC arrived.

Didn't even know him as a guitarist. I only know him from that one album and tour where he fronted The Faceless, who I guess were circling the drain by that point.

Tremoverb model is decent. Everyone overlooks it. It’s a 2ch Recto essentially.

I can’t find the thread where it was discussed but I got my latest QC in Dec ‘25 (little over a month ago) and wanted to confirm if it had the new codec or old one. (New codec = Aug ‘25 manufacture date or later).

I guess checking the I/O panel if the Inputs 1 & 2 have “Type” as an option means old codec.

Well mine has “Type” (mic or instrument). So it’s the old one… so no guarantee buying well after Aug ‘25 that you’ll have the new codec version.

Hmmm yeah I guess it depends on how old the stock is. I doubt they tossed the "old" ones. Perhaps manufactured post August 2025 is more accurate
