Would've jammed on that instead of playing video games all night, covered in Dorito dust.
To be fair, the most recent 3.whatever release came out, like, 5 minutes ago. And it was a killer. The major revision makes 4.0 stick out like a sore thumb, but that's just because it supports a new piece of hardware.4.0 news:
CorOS 4.0.0 and Cortex Control 4.0.0 are now available
This update introduces full support for Quad Cortex mini, new virtual devices, and a range of workflow and usability improvements.neuraldsp.com
My take:
- Good on them for continually adding reverbs. Definitely has been one of the weaker spots of the unit. That being said....
- The promised "ambient" reverbs from the launch announcement still are nowhere to be seen and were probably only ever just hallucinations of their copywriter and/or Doug Castro.
- They got to 4.0 - a major milestone and progress marker - and added ZERO amps? Like TINA is right there, and they still are the slowest amp modeling company in existence?!?!
That's fine, and I probably wouldn't personally need more either. That being said, they are the ones who made a big stink over having the fastest, most automated capability amp modeling capacity EVER.
Let's talk some more about that crazy price LOL.
I came this close to doing a capture of the Mk I mode before packing my Mk V up for return, but then I started getting bogged down in Slave Out levels etc. etc. etc. and chickened out.8:35 total time for a V2 Capture. That's also faster than the Kemper when you factor in Refining and pulling out hair.

A major NDSP selling point is being vape resistant.I don't think I would have chosen that smoke effect about 47 seconds in. Just sayin'.![]()
Also curious - if Fractal released something like this (flagship level DSP, desktop format, focus on editing via app/plugin but also a good touchscreen) would people be interested?
Praising Cliff too lolMake no mistake, if that was a FAS Mini launch today, every mf’er in here would have bought it.![]()

People keep acting like fractal couldn’t have a modern form factor or touch screen and all that. I don’t understand why, the way the qc and qc mini navigate seems great. It’s always going to be a challenge with menus but if the fm3 got a qc treatment with a touch screen it would be a much welcomed overhaul for that form factor.Make no mistake, if that was a FAS Mini launch today, every mf’er in here would have bought it.![]()
Absolutely true. I figure that just changes how you do something. Not what you can do. Folks are typically concerned more about capabilities than methodology. Outside of the expression thing it seems like the mini can do everything else? Again, as far as I can tell so far.And the loops are on TRS
Smoke comes out of your mini as it fries.I don't think I would have chosen that smoke effect about 47 seconds in. Just sayin'.![]()
