NAD Mesa Mark VII...

Y’all has been’s ain’t holdin’ no MKVI??
That’s the one in my radar💯.
The MKVI is a one channel MK,
Raw ass monster mutes for miles..
Heavy metal over the hills & far away.

I don't see how this could be the cause of low reverb for you but I pulled the tank from mine today and there was a piece of shielding tape that had come loose and was sticking to the springs!

Reseated the tape and the reverb is strong now.
Yep that wasn't my issue, I tested the reverb tank with another head and had no problems. I actually just got my VII back from service and it was a faulty reverb transformer or something on the PCB. All fixed now and sounds awesome.

Thing sounds killer. Not sure if it’s the phone compression but def getting more of the immediate pick attack thing I get on my Mark III and kinda miss on some newer versions.

The compression was a big issue with the volume louder. Still there but not as much. This amp has amazing attack and growl.

Yeah the Mark V doesn't need a boost either. It'll take them well enough, but you don't need one like you do with a Diezel D-Moll for example, or even a JCM800 to get the kind of high gain tones I want.

I find boosts usually disrupt the dryness of the attack in a way that obfuscates what I like about the Mark high gain sounds.
I like it as an additional tonal option. On the older Marks where you can adjust the input volume it can really make for some interesting gain staging combinations.

I like to use fuzz for texture sometimes and find it works well with the Mark gain structure on the lead channel. I love how the Mark II/III clean channels take dirt as well - some of the best for pedal platforms. That sounds asinine to use a Mesa as a pedal platform but it does work quite well. Not really my primary thing though.
