I think the cabinet is going to be the make or break. I would love to saw one down and use with a closed back cab or two.
I'm guessing DSL40CR > DSL40C (or whatever it was I played.) And DSL100HR >= DSL40CR, presumably. And depending on cab.You can get a head shell for them.
I actually really liked my dsl40cr. I was very impressed, especially given the price point
I think there might have been a slight tonal tweak between the DSL40C and DSL40CR (?), but for me, it's the non-midi vs midi of the two.I'm guessing DSL40CR > DSL40C (or whatever it was I played.) And DSL100HR >= DSL40CR, presumably. And depending on cab.
Ordering from MF there’s some probability the amp shipped from a GC store. GC cannot be trusted to get anything right.
Thank you!So moral of the story, it pays to be honest, but maybe GAMANDA isn't as honest as I am, lol... Good Luck, @mbenigni, you will get it eventually and it will be worth the wait!!
I just heard Ozzy's I Don't Know in the truck on the way back from my appointment - "It's not how you play the game, It's if you win or lose. You can choose, don't confuse. Win or Lose, it's up to you." Seems fitting...It’s 2025 baby. Rules and truth are for the peasants.
GOOD NEWS: The amp just arrived!
BAD (HOPEFULLY NOT CATASTROPHIC) NEWS: My wife watched the driver (GAMANDA? Possibly incensed because I'd already left a bad review?) pull in, open the rear gate halfway, and literally kick the amp out of the truck onto our driveway. (Sounds like it landed on its end before falling over and winding up upside-down.) Then he/she drove off the side of the driveway and left a nice crater in our lawn, but whatever.
Inspecting and testing now. Didn't hear anything rattling around when I carried the amp down the stairs, so maybe I'll get lucky. No thanks to FedEx.![]()
ThisI wouldn’t condone murder, but I’d understand.

Friggin GAMANDA.
Let's fight to the death. The winner gets all of the Dual Reverbs - which are excellent in their own right!Ok maybe I went overboard with the 900 shade, but I’ve frequently clarified my hate is deservingly limited to the dual reverb. The 900 mkIII and SL-X are both killer and unfortunately lumped in with that other turd by association.
We don’t need to fight. You can have them.Let's fight to the death. The winner gets all of the Dual Reverbs - which are excellent in their own right!

If the tube sockets are not bent by 3-4 degrees, there's no way to for the good tone to travel to the speakers.Turns out real tone is in shipping-damaged transformers.
