NAD: Mesa Fillmore 50 Combo

Happy New Amp Day! Fillmore 50 combo. Per the previous owner it was barely used. I paid a bit under market value for it. I was in need of a clean but loud amp for the jazz & big band stuff I'm doing lately while keeping it small and a reasonable weight. The amp I have been using is great but gets a little too dirty too fast. So far it's excellent and the gain settings are surprisingly good. I may actually prefer them to my Badlander 50.

I'm not completely sold on the C90 speaker but I'm going to reserve judgement while it breaks in. It isn't bad but I get the feeling it could be better on the cleans. I'm considering a Neo Creamback I own since it would shave off some pounds. I have a few others I can also try but that's for later.

Overall I'm extremely happy with it. Not selling anything now but if I had to keep only one amp the Fillmore would be it.

The Fillmore is an awesome amp. Very underrated IMO. Everyone talks about it for blues tones but rarely ever for rock and metal, which it can do surprisingly well. I liked the 25 better since it has the 6v6 magic on the clean side, but both versions are cool! Nice score!

I have the combo and matching extension cabinet. It’s a great little amp and deceptively versatile, though I typically use it for clean and slightly gritty living room noodling.

The Cream Neo sounds great with it. Definitely makes it lighter, so much so you could throw it at an assailant in a mugging situation.

Killer amp. Lacked headroom for my uses, though.
