Made it today. Super nice build and so far sounds great. I only played long enough to make sure everything was working and so far od2 (vh4) was where I spent a bit of time tweaking and it sounds like a vh4 to me.

Mine came in today. So far the VH4 channel is killer. Mark III and Soldano sound pretty good. I have heard that he will build these with custom channels of your choice and I had known when I order I probably would have had the clean with something that gets edge of breakup and picked something else for the Mark since I have a IIC+ and JP2C.

Build quality looks good and if you are using it for gigging the foot switch is compact and seems well made.

Do you know what power tubes are in it? I forgot to take a close look to see before I got it all set up and I’d probably have to move it outside of the stack to see now.

If it’s the same power tubes as the Marcus is 6P3S (although Cyrillic P lol upside down U thing) which seems to be an equivalent to 6L6/5881

Thanks! I probably won't replace them until they need it, but good to keep in mind. They actually wrote 12AX7 on the back along with the other equivalent Ukrainian tube type (I think).

Enjoying the SLO channel now and gonna play around with backing tracks to dial it in, I will probably try to do a video this week and post it, but I have a ton of other stuff I really should do.

Do you know if the Dragon’s VH4 channel based on Ch3 or Ch4?

The gold front panel looks a lot better these pics than in the FB photos.

I’m not sure. Channel 3 is most popular, so I’m kind of guessing it is that. I haven’t played a VH4, so I don’t have a great frame of reference.

I like that channel, but got stuck for at least a couple of hours playing lead with backing tracks using the SLO channel and I love it. If this had MIDI switching I would gig with it.

How much are the 4 channel dragons? Can’t see pricing anywhere
Message him via Facebook or Instagram for a quote in case anything has changed since we ordered a couple of months ago, and to find out the current lead times. Mine shipped about 2 months after I ordered and took about a week and a half to get to me.

I dislike that kind of pricing practice if I’m completely honest, shouldn’t have to hide prices like that. I understand there’s bolt ons but ceriatone and other builders at least have base prices and contact for more info kind of thing.

Not a tube expert but I have a nagging vague recollection about there being an important distinction maybe in terms of plate voltage handling on 6P3S vs 6P3S-E. I’d recommend crossing your T’s when you go to retube if you end up swapping in a non Soviet tube.

I’m sure the amp manufacturer can offer guidance there too.

I saw a bunch of posts that a Dragon was around $700 USD along with $120-140USD shipping. No idea what shipping is to other parts of the world. I was quoted for 2 months about 2 weeks ago.
I messaged them as well but it’s nice to just know ballpark prices. Totally understandable in this climate if something creeps up $50-100 here and there. Thanks!

I only said to check with him because he is in Ukraine and with things going that are out of our control I’m concerned for his safety and other things that could affect his business or pricing. Was trying to avoid spelling that out.

How do you set up the Mark channel considering it doesn't have the graphic EQ? I know it will sound just fine, but it will not do that V scoop tone and might be better suited to be used as a lower gain channel.

Trying to decided if I am keeping it or the new SYN-20IR.... both sound great but the flexibility of the SYN is really what is driving me ATM.

What are your thoughts on the Dragon now that you have had it a few days?

I’m getting killer lead tones from the SLO channel and the Mark III channel, and the Diezel covers a lot of ground. Liking the Twin more than expected. A different clean than my JP2C, but just as nice with a different flavor. Seems to have a nice glassy chime to it.

I need to spend some time dialing in the Mark to see how the tone stack interacts. At this point I found a nice lead tone with BMT set on 10 and presence low. I think I have all of the shift switches pushed in as well.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on settings for that channel, and any other thoughts you have on this thing.
