You mean "save = overwrite preset"?
The way some MIDI capable pedals work is that you either use an editor to copy presets to another slot, or they can accept a MIDI message on save to tell which slot to save. So e.g if you want to copy preset slot 4's preset to slot 6, you'd activate slot 4, press the footswitch that starts the store function, then send MIDI CC 6 (or 5 if it's 0-based) to indicate slot 6.Sure. Or allow them to use a "save as" button combination in addition which would then trigger the current behaviour. Or the other way around, doesn't really matter - there should be a way to just save things as you usually save things.
E.g Strymon uses that pattern so if you want to save your preset, you hold the footswitch that activates the store function, then press it again to save in the current slot (overwrite), or send a MIDI message for a different slot.
Updated my Golden this morning. It sounds very good. Some of the choices UA have made are truly baffling with the way this is implemented. PC/CC on different midi channels?!

Watching the Morningstar video..that save functionality seems really dumb. Every time you store the preset, instead of overwriting the current one it will create a new preset and automatically assign it to that PC slot. This will mean that for every stored tweak you start piling up unwanted presets visible in your mobile app.
It doesn't even seem to use the existing preset name for these. In the video the user saves a preset called "Blended rocks" and the new preset becomes "Lion 2", basically "pedal name + running number". Now imagine that you try to work with your pedal to build a set of presets for your live setup. By the time you are done, you'd likely have presets "Lion 2", "Lion 3", and "Lion 4". How do you know what each preset was based on, what it was supposed to do? You'd have to have the app open at all times to see this, rename those presets as you complete them or rely on your MIDI controller for preset naming. At minimum it should call the preset "Blended rocks 2" so you always have a reference to its starting point.
Everything I’ve seen including the Santiago video says 127 presets.Just got the "official" email from UA.
" Access 4 stored User Preset to switch between "
Wow .... so they finally implement this 3 1/2 years after release and allow you to have 4 presets ?
UA just never stop being UA !

I want to bitch about how 1990s this all is, but hey I have MIDI now .. well as soon as I buy a MIDI to USB dongle and a few extra USB A->C cables. But if this makes the damned things pedal board viable, I'll try to refrain from too much sarcasm. Especially considering they did it within the current architecture.
