Luminite Graviton M1 MIDI Controller

Cool! Hope the holidays don't mess with the shipping though, cause in the U.S. the thanksgiving and christmas holidays suck when it comes to mail taking forever to deliver lol.

Also when do you think the touch pad thing will come to the M1 screen?
Im moving stock to the US so shipping will be much quicker.

Touchscreen touchpad coming in 4.x update, after other hardware are finished. So in next 2 months. Also I’m planning guitar mounted touchpad too 😉

Awesome!! Can't wait to get the RR controller and the touchpad on the screen and the touchpad on my guitar in the future!

amazing. I just stumbled on this unit (thanks, youtube!) and it hits all the right spots for me. especially that little mounted controller! awesome. I've been a huge fan of the Morningstar units and own a few... but also having the ability to edit right on the unit itself is a game changer for my purposes.

do you have a release timeline for the M2 unit? will the differences simply be the added hardware that you outlined in your post @Luminite or are there performance differences as well?

also, I had asked via the chat on the luminite site in regard to the footswitch controllers. do they only act on 'button press' events? or is it possible to respond to 'release' or 'double press' etc?

Thanks ! The M2 will be available in a couple of weeks. The M1 and M2 share the same platform so there are no performance differences. If you already have the M1, you can extend it features to match the M2 with F10/W F6/W footswitch pedals and the upcoming Relay + CV Adapter.

All XY Controllers + F10/W + F6/W Footswitch Pedals have "release" events, in the form of Momentary Mode (holding notes / effects). Long / Double Press were considered earlier but deemed unnecessary due to the ample number of switches available (10 each from XY Controllers and F10/W) . But I can add to the coming updates if there are requests.

Long press at least would be useful on the footswitches. I don't think it's necessary on the XY controllers but if it's the same trouble to implement, then maybe make it a feature you can turn on/off in settings for each controller? Since long press usually means there needs to be more delay in activation to detect the long press.

I guess I wasn't considering the XY controllers in that question, but that would certainly be interesting. I've found with my current 6 button MIDI footswitch that the multiple control options (press, release, long press, double tap) deliver amazing control options in a very small footprint. Was just curious if there were any options like that planned.

Regardless, I ordered the M1 bundle yesterday. I'm super stoked to see what this brings to the table. 🎉

I received my Graviton today. In short order, I have this thing controlling our set running in Ableton Live... I'm shocked at how feature rich this unit is. I walked clear across my house with the XY controller and was triggering my laptop with no issue at all. My plan is to attach the XY controller to my guitar, as I control Ableton when we perform. It's amazing to me that I will be able to do this wirelessly - the thought of not being tied down to a specific spot on stage has never been possible before! Such a great product... glad I stumbled on this!

so, question - still at the office, but thinking about what I was trying to do last night.

on my current MIDI controller, I send a CC value of 127 when I press a switch. I hold this switch for some time, then I release it... which then sends a CC value of 0. if I remember correctly (I'll have to verify this evening...) but using a MIDI monitor, it appeared to me that when using 'momentary' for one of the XY presses, it sent 127 both on press and release. is there something I'm missing in order to have it send different values on each event? same CC#, just different values.

Momentary works fine on my setup (ie: 127 on press, 0 on release). Did this happen on just one XY switch or any ?

Both M1, M2 and the XY are very exciting! I have Softstep 2 (Keith McMillen) that has a USB A to B connection. Can I connect it to the either M1/M2? Looks like th USB A for host only. Maybe the USB C with an adaptor???? Also, what's the word on the new / other guitar mount controller EC or RR? What's main difference between that and the XY? Is it that its 5 way vs 10 way?

Thanks ! I think Softstep 2 wouldn't work directly as they need a USB Host port than can receive MIDI (M1 / M2 Host can output MIDI only for now), but its possible with future updates. It would work with the kmi MIDI expander (or similar adapter) in the middle though.

EC (Encoder) Controllers are dual knobs with similar size compared to XYs. Each knob can also be pushed down as a button. So 3 assignable actions per knob (clockwise, counter clockwise, and push button). The first batch of EC is finished, I'm working on the 4.1 update to enable them on the M1 / M2

Any chance for a pic of what the EC thing looks like? and the RR?

I'm a little confused about the EC and the RR switch. I thought the RR was a 5 way switch as per an earlier post and that it was renamed EC. But now you say the EC are dual knobs with a push down. That sounds completely different. So are there two different new controllers; RR and EC? and if so, is the RR a 5-way switch? Pics would be great! :)
