Line 6 Helix Stadium

Tim just got a timeout from this thread and the Wishlist thread. He can still post anywhere else on this forum.

All of us have known Tim for a while and know he has no ill-intent, but not everyone else knows that and after the back and forth this thread already had it was probably for the best he takes a chill for a bit to not get that same back and forth going. That said, I didn't see the Wishlist thread at all, so if he was shitting all over it in there than I can also understand why the action was taken from that direction. :ROFLMAO:

Personally, Tim cracks me up and I was happy he signed up here. Even if we have to intervene on his posts at times.

We’ve got a stadium thread, a helix talk thread and a wishlist thread

and at least 1 or 2 completely neglected Kemper threads

Before the Stadium news, I was somewhat shocked by the amount of attention the Kemper 2 threads were getting. I didn’t expect this crowd to have much interest in such an uninspiring announcement. So, I guess I am not at all surprised they died down. What is there to talk about? Same outdated product with less green?

Truly next gen devices from Line 6 and Fractal have far far more promise. I am sure I will own one or both within the next few years. I am also pretty sure I will never own another Kemper. Even if they fixed their profiling to be better than Tonex or NAM, that’s not going to be enough of a differentiator to make a Kemper a worthwhile product to me.

I do love my Kemper, and I appreciate all the free updates I have had over the years; however ....... man did they get trounced in the world of new product announcements!

It really seems like Kemper is content to continue a refinement roadmap while Line 6 is off-the-rails with new features AND an enormous Ui/Ux upgrade.

Now, I personally have too much time and effort into getting my tone down for around 100 songs we gig to with the Kemper, and it gets the job done, but there is a TON of marketing glitz in the new Stadium. I think all that glitz and function are bound to impact the sales of not just Kemper, but all other pedals as well (at least in the high end).

I wonder if Kemper would consider a new foot controller with OLED scribble strips :). I am already getting Scribble Strip envy ;).

As a Kemper MK1 owner (rack with fc) my biggest interest in MK2 is if the new profiling will be provided as an upgrade to the MK1 (seeing how they didn't change any of the chips that actually process the sound).

As a new product announcement ..... well, it clearly isn't a new product, but rather a refresh of the existing product.

The Stadium is just as clearly a new generation of Helix, and an exciting one at that. I think the Stadium is going to set the tone (pun intended) for the digital amp market for the next 10 years. Despite the glitz though, I really do think they need to improve on the tone in several areas. Glitz only gets you so far ;).

There far and few between I love @2112 videos always great very informational, the polar opposite of that tone junkie dude and Rhett shill dude

The really fantastic thing with Leon - and Burgs - videos - is they are both fellow Aussies ... sorry had to slip that in :)

Even though they are fantastic Fractal artists - they know how to tweak their units for great tones, either for home, studio or live - but everything they say and advise about setting up and tweaking Fractal sounds is equally applicable to any other high end modeler :)
