Line 6 Helix Stadium

so here is a few questions for Igloo

The update process , obviously it will not be USB at launch , will be it wifi ?

Regarding CPU. is it 2X the power of Helix roughly speaking?

Do the foot switches basically act like a virtual A/B state like you can have 2 amps or 2 drives or a chorus/ flanger on one switch and go back and forth between them ?

Igor made mention about a ton of stuff under the hood that you could expose more parameters but chose not too is it possible some of there more common ones , like Bright Cap , Power tube choice , NFB will be available or this is a big one that people are asking for years
the ability to take a preamp and mate it with a different power amp , like 5150 pre to jcm800 power amp topology

Omg sorry again I am too lazy to type… I meant my old valvetronix pedal and amps did fine cleaning up well when my guitars volume was used… I thought most recent modelers were good on this front?

Hahahah I'm just glad you could see how we were confused before. :rofl

Here's some perspective for you-

That video is 13 years old and the content running Garageband on an iPhone4. I don't know if they had automation available on it then but I know they were doing it 6 years ago, so if outdated iPhone can run multiple tracks of audio and VST, accept/send MIDI, automate effects/volume/EQ, I'm quite certain an app written by Line 6/Yamaha group in 2025 could pull it off just fine.

As for the stem splitter, there are websites that do it for free now using AI and there's sites you can pay for that'll do high quality splitting-

I think it's safe to say Line 6/Yamaha has the resources to pull this off. Especially considering Eric's reply to my hopes for the ability to alter the speed of songs in Showcase and how it currently sacrifices the audio quality, I'm going to assume that there's a barrier they won't drop below if they're going to put it on this.

If you can't see the usability of some of these features, I don't even mean this in a dickish way, but I'm going to assume you have little experience outside jamming in the house. And even IF jamming at home is your thing, one of the most highly requested features is some kind of way to play audio through a modeler so people could jam along with songs, being able to remove all the guitars in your favorite songs to jam with at home, while your fancy pedalboard switches all your effects, I'm sure there's going to be more than one dude standing in front of a mirror when a solo section comes up and the wife isn't home so they can really crank the lead preset.

From a live performance perspective, that thing is fucking nuts.

Bro. You typed all that in response to TB3.

He answers in the Worship interview
no usb editor at launch
It will be an IOS app
Desktop editor will be later
One could guess that will be connected to a new HX stadium native
Minor boo from me (I don't own an iOS device and like editing on a big screen), but only a minor one, since desktop is planned (hopefully promptly).

My congratulations to Line 6. This is one of the most well thought out new digital amp designs I have ever seen.

Hmmm, could have sworn I saw in that Kemper MKII thread a few people claim we’re all just happy to shit on new gear if it’s not from our preferred company.

Let this thread show you that if you move the needle enough that Fractal owners are rooting for success and cheering on a new product, ya did something right. When you spin the needle in circles so your new product can’t speak for itself and only the loyalist have excitement for it, well, you reap what you sow.
I think that it is now clear what Kemper's motivation was for MKII release.... and this is coming from a Kemper user. I believe that the new Line 6 entry is strong everywhere (nearly) that Kemper is weak.

I think it is pretty easy for most people to agree that the features release so far are compelling. The look and feel is outstanding.
Wow, I've got to say this looks pretty amazing. Now I'm an old school kind of guy who places sound quality above all else, so I will reserve judgement until they are in users hands for a while. But having past experience with Helix Floor and Helix Native, plus a bunch of other stuff over the years, I expect the sound quality will be pretty competitive to the best. UI and other functionality looks off the charts.
... and this is where I still live.

I loved much of what Helix had to offer, but the switching delay, and sound quality deficit from Fractal and Kemper always kept Line 6 off of my GAS list. I also have to admit that I harbor a bit of old school prejudice. I still have some left over bad feelings about early pod sound for distortion sounds that have that "bumble bee in a tin can" sound.

The features and the price point alone will win the new contender a place in many players stages. The look and feel will capture many more. I think that Line 6 understands that many more customers can live with sound quality differences that come down to computer analysis in many cases to see the difference, but that great look and feel along with an unparalleled feature set (and a very competitive price) will win the day.

My crystal ball says:

  • Fractal will remain the most powerful processing system in existence
  • NAM will remain the uncontested best capture accuracy in existence
  • Kemper will remain the most used live touring rig
.... but Line 6 will capture the masses with this product. It strikes the perfect mix of features, look and feel, price point and sound quality (my guess on the last one) to make it the biggest selling device on the planet.

Based on the comments in this thread, it will attract users away even from Fractal despite being less powerful simply due to the features it offers.

If I end up being incorrect about Line 6 and the sound quality vs Fractal and Kemper, then it will be an even bigger success. Shoot, I might even have to buy one myself ;).

I am super excited to see some reviews this fall.

OT: I think it is fair to say that this announcement is the total opposite of the Kemper MKII announcement in nearly every way.

Maybe, sometimes. If you take a look at the FAS forum thread now, you'll see appreciation and respect for the new product.
I’ve been on the fractal forum quite some time. My comment was more aimed at the overall sentiment there as well as here and other places, not this launch

Thinking about this for a day - my ideal product is probably a Stadium "Zero" with the touchscreen, full DSP horsepower, and WiFi editing features (no footswitches, but a floorboard port or something). I'm basically using the Axe FX III in this manner and almost never interact with the front panel. I know the market for this is too niche and POD bean like for them to go there.

With that said, this is a very cool product line with some forward thinking stuff for live musicians or home jamming if one has the time and patience to setup tracks to play along with, etc. Congratulations to Line 6!

Interesting I think that I’ll wait till it’s out for a little bit and watch all the reviews and stuff but when they’re talking about turning the guitar volume down with a model, my old belt, Tronics floor unit turn the volume still so I’ve also heard that practice are very goodThe volume change the guitar clean up really well so what’s going on?

I love the x/y touch idea to morph between different settings. How has someone not thought of that for amp models? Reminds me of logic drummer or various soft synth plugins, and its such a good idea to bring to a modeler. This will be such a fast and intuitive way to tweak settings, maybe even better than physical knobs. Great design, actually taking advantage of something a touchscreen excels at.
