We've been there for a couple of years now. It's just been a waiting game to see who finally understands this. It was never going to be Fractal.
Yes. That's the idea, to eliminate the need for foot switches during a scripted performance.Wait did I see that there's automation? So if you are running tracks in stadium, you can program it to snapshot change on it's own? No more stomping required? That would be fn killer.
Well, that’s just a damn shame then.Rotary footswitches? I don't think they showed that.
If the "bar" of their proprietary capturing engine is set lower than NAM, they can only set it higher by supporting it.From a pure business perspective, if a top tier company brings NAM compatibility (full NAM, because crippled versions would let them in a weak position), then they are setting their amp tones to the same bar that any other company, expensive or cheap, can have.
NAM support doesn't stop the race for improvement, actually if it's a feature that will help them sell more units, it's something that can fund and push further that race. NAM isn't perfect either.Honestly, I don't want to see NAM everywhere. I want to see different solutions, I want to see a race and improvements. NAM is the present, but I don't see it being the future because there are things to improve. And resources from companies can materialize those improvements.
100% and they are also giving themselves a long lead team like December for the base model , it will likely be well beyond the 16 at launch I suspectLooks like it does in versatility, user experience and efficiency. The 16 guitar amps thing is super temporary.
Please tell me the Loop/ Send/ Return blocks allow for I/O to and from USB channels...Forgot to mention the multiple splits. That was one of my big gripes with the helix.

I keep thinking of “Pokemon Stadium” whenever I read it. Not my favourite name, don’t think I’ll come around to it. Not overly keen on the name Agoura, or the sheep graphics either but it’s all pretty minor stuff that doesn’t matter. and Hype seems like something I’m never going to use, but at least irs implemented in a way that it doesn’t have to be intrusive or mess up perfectly good models.I'm gonna say it; as epic as this announcement is, I don't like the name. Stadium? Stadium XL? What's the Stomp and Stomp XL replacements going to be called, Helix Backyard BBQ and Helix Frat Party?
Alright, that's as much negativity as I can muster on this release.
Just curious, and don't take this as an attack, but what's wrong with Line6 brand?I guess not. But unless Yamaha has taken over, there’s no way in hell that I’m putting 2K+ in to a brand like Line 6.
But all the fans can rejoice. They have a new platform for the next decade.
If the "bar" of their proprietary capturing engine is set lower than NAM, they can only set it higher by supporting it.
If it is set higher there's nothing to lose for them cuz users will prefer the better solution anyway.
So I really don't see the issue.

Improvement isn't only about quality anyway, also having an industry standard is an improvement for usability.
Just imagine all modelers only supporting proprietary cab formats and not allowing to import wav IRs: people that play with more than one platform would be forced to search, buy and use different IRs for each of them, or 3rd party producers would need to do double/quadruple work to offer their IRs for more than one platform.
Having a universal format for IRs didn't stop companies from introducing dyna-cabs and similar, for example, or to sell their own cab packs in proprietary formats.
Being able to load your tone on the hardware of your choice is a huge improvement imho and I bet this will expand to effects in the near future as well. Companies can still add value to their hardware by making their platform-specific content which can still be higher-quality or have more features than a capture.
Stadium S and XSI'm gonna say it; as epic as this announcement is, I don't like the name. Stadium? Stadium XL? What's the Stomp and Stomp XL replacements going to be called, Helix Backyard BBQ and Helix Frat Party?

Don't forget the Turdblaster Pro.Holy shit.
They've just killed Headrush, Kemper MK2, and Quad whateverex, all in one fell swoop.
A proper Agoura JCM800 2203 model better show up before fall or Line 6 will suffer the wrath of a 1000 James Freemans.
No one knowsI missed a few pages.... is there going to be a rack version?
