Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Frequency response doesn't show anything to do with transient response, however. This is exactly why I argue against one-number evaluations like Leo giving LUFS numbers out like they're candy; it never tells the whole story.

The closest we have is something like MUSHRA:
true.
cool. thanks for the link.

not that I put 100% faith in Eventide's split eq, it does attempt to split tone from transient. When muting the tone and freezing the transients I get this..

real, then stadium (like I said, this is just splitting hairs.)

Which probably uses an FFT process with Wiener filtering, which in itself smears transient response, depending on how the FFT is setup.

This vid took way longer to put together than I first thought... Proxy (and everything really) absolutely shining here.
I chose the JVM410H cause I thought it would give me some trouble but turns out they're some of the best captures I've ever done. I dont usually put things upto a microscope like this, so even doing it I was pretty impressed. I legitimately couldnt tell whats what if this was a blind shootout (I just labelled everything in the video and I cant still barely hear when its crossing audio sources)

I dont normally spam links but this is a good one. I've attached the proxy clones, links for ToneX and NAM are in the video, all free downloads if you want to check them all out.

I watched that video yesterday and commented on it. That is a great video.

Update from L6 on a few tickets in case anyone is experiencing the same.

- Favorites will be fixed in the next release. It was accidentally limited to 64. The limit should be 128 for now.

-The ethernet (wired) settings erroneously resetting DNS/DHCP is logged but is marked for a future release, no ETR

-It was also recommended to keep your IR count to about 750 (at 1000 bad things start to happen but they are looking into it)

The contour or mid boost on that amp is very useful IMO
Along w the bright
That’s exactly what I found as well. I find useful tones with every guitar I plug in, and it’s almost always through the combination of those two controls in various configurations. I’m barely touching the tone knobs.

As Proxy ‘does stuff’ on the cloud and is learning, could your early experience with your EVH and 6505+ compared with your JVM here be that it’s actually getting better already?
It just seemed to like the JVM more than the 5150iii 50w, not much difference from my end. I'll do some 6505+ captures for a pack and see how they come out.

Apologies if that’s a silly question but I just don’t know how this thing is working in terms of ongoing improvements and if it’s a case of ‘it’s continually improving’ or if it’s a case of ‘line 6 are gathering the capture data and they then use this to make updates that improve things’.
I'm not sure. I would think they'd announce a back end update instead of silently upgrading things but I can see merit in both approaches. Maybe DI can elaborate how they might do things.

I'm doing some proxy captures of pedals and I gotta say... hitting a preset limit with a single pedal capture and I cant use the EVH Panama Agoura model, not impressed. I took the Reverb out of there and I got it working but that's some pretty hefty limitations.

I know it'll get better but it made me double take while messing around tonight
