Can we change Sascha's name to this?

By that token, why is anyone using modeler at all? People have been gigging with amps sucessfully for ages.
Yeah I know, it’s weird how so many high profile bands are gigging with a qc and other modellers when it has no global blocks, fascinating stuff.

Some heretics (tens of thousands I guess) might suggest it’s not the be all and end all singular feature that some forum dudes think it is

I’m just more interested in functionality these days than the last 2% of TOANZ.

More is more. I never not want to see progress in these units. But everyone wants their niche thing alongside updated modelling. I guess global blocks is probably on a pile alongside 300 other things and they pick the ones that make the most sense

I would also say the pursuit of amp fidelity and realism, touch, feel whatever you want to call it is the core driving force for the premium units. I never want to sideline that goal, it can always get better.

We are at a point where the real differentiator features on any modeler are workflow and form factor related. I do hope Line6 keeps looking outside the box for that because what they have already released for Helix Stadium is good stuff.

Most major updates for Helix came with a good mix of new models, features and bugfixes. I'd like them to keep that trajectory.

You're making an argument for the last 2% of FuNcTiOnALiTy lol
Yes. Because I find that to be more of a thing for me compared to if the top end of the JCM has enough scrongle at eardrum destroying settings that nobody would ever need for anything other than crowd control, lol. Give me 101% functionality and 93% tones and I’ll have more fun than the other way around.

Cool.

I already had all of the functionality I needed to write kick-ass sick as fuck music back in 2008.

Thing is, most of the folks arguing kinda contra global blocks (or at least telling you it's irrelevant) are not playing live regularly. Business as usual.
In fact, the entire discussion mirrors my experiences @ TOP when I first brought the topic up. By now there's a certain higher amount of people who would love to have global blocks, but the ones telling you it's not really important are still the same.

Cool? Not sure what point you’re trying to make here.
You say:
Usability > perfect tone authenticity.

I say:
We already had functional systems 15+ years ago so "more functionality" is not solving a real musical problem. The only thing left to improve is tone.

If your modelling still doesn’t sound right, then "more features" or "more functionality" is not a compensation, it’s a distraction.

Not everyone has “musical problems”. Anything that allows me to think less about my gear is as or more valuable than 2dB at 3khz. The inches in modeling accuracy don’t make this any more compelling if a unit for me. There’s no reason both can’t be a priority.
