10+ years of feature updates alongside a brand new major unit that’s got a bunch of features people are excited for…. And still no global blocks. Wow they really dropped the ball here, the most critical feature for the gigging musician.
I’d be happy if they implement it one day but the feature is always blown way out of proportion for not existing by Sascha and one or two other people. IMHO the topic needs its own thread cause it’s just nuked this one

I think the problem with forums in general is that everyone has their own myopic view of what the product should be, and what it absolutely cannot leave out. Which is fine, to an extent.
But when you can’t let it go, and it carries on for pages, an everyone is a stupid idiot for not agreeing that your pet topic is THE most important aspect, it gets old.
Definitely not saying this is you. Just making the observation about the continual back and forth, and the complaints about the back and forth.

It is me a little bit, lol. But if someone posts about a different topic most people are capable of moving on. You get a bunch of people quoting a post just to say “ha dumb post idiot!” and then it just carries on. And I’ll just keep doing it the more people who never contribute anything keep carrying on about seeing things they don’t like because fuck you. (Not you)

First off, it might be comparably difficult to implement global blocks. It actually seems to be when you look at how both Boss and Fractal don't manage to come up with decent solutions.
Also, the vast majority of players (namely those not playing live) will - with some exceptions, obviously - not really make use of them. Not even I would, outside of my gigging rigs.
So there's all that.
Yet, it's pretty much factually proveable that global blocks would be an incredibly useful feature for some players.
And as far as the "demand" goes: Some folks don't even know such a thing exists, and very often - if they do - they don't get it right. As can be perfectly seen in this thread.
IOW, if that feature was there, I'd take a bet that many people not aware of it would like and use it.
Besides: Would you please stop all that "we managed to get along fine without it for so long" nonsense? We managed to get along without *each and every* new technology for so long, so any such statements are completely meaningless unless you don't like technology to improve.
And as far as "nuking" this thread goes, the global blocks discussion isn't the reason for that to happen.

What is the coolest preset you've worked up on the Stadium that really takes advantage of the additional horsepower, new features and/or the new modeling?
Sadly, I don't have a good example of my own. I've been wrestling more with getting my imported OG patches level-set. My old system — running into an audio interface with meters and trying to adjust all the presets so they're mostly in the yellow, with the briefest blinks of red when I'm really wailing — is not working out for me for some reason. Any advice on this would also be welcome.

Given what I've seen randomly here and there; I wouldn't spend time importing a single thing into a new platform. From the ground up, baby!
That's another idea. But I'm a patch-per-song kind of guy, so it's an intimidating process to contemplate for our 70-plus song repertoire. But if I make good use of the template feature, it might not be that bad.

Maybe? But I mostly prefer that approach. I was never a pedalboard guy, so I'm not good at thinking on my feet (or using them to tap dance) to get the right sound for a particular song. Plus we play a pretty wide variety of stuff (from Come Monday to Super 8, and I switch between a 12-string semi-hollow body and a Les Paul. I'm not sure I could work out how to do a kitchen sink preset.

All my out there sounds are on the GM800. The FM9 is my "amp and traditional pedals" and I really like it that way? Same amp for the whole night for consistency sake. I've got enough traditional effects (chorus for all the wet stuff, Barracuda flanger and rotary

Had a co-worker — a balding, 350-pound hulk of a guy — do a karoake version of Pink Pony Club at a staff retreat once. First time I had heard the song, but dude NAILED it. Sadly, there is no video.
The 12-string definitely requires a different approach. I generally use a Clarity amp with the acoustic sim running in parallel to help give it a little more "real acoustic guitar" flavor, then go with a parametric after that to shape the tone a bit and filter out some of the harsh highs.
I know a lot of people recommend sticking with the same amp to help make the sound guy's job easier, but I can't make myself do that. What's the point of having all these different models to choose from if you're only going to use one? But I haven't gotten any complaints from our sound guy yet.

I get it, part 2. How much acoustic stuff are you doing? We just added Crazy Little Thing back and I have toyed with trying to recreate an acoustic-y vibe but I have been lazy and just used my "clean tone" (aka my bandmates saying "Is that an Anthrax song?"
