Oh I was just using IK as an example. The same is true for a lot of emulations - I don’t think any get released deliberately sounding off, but often they are made in environments that might differ to the environment most people use them in. Lots of models use reactive load boxes and it can cause some differences depending on what each individual is used to.

I use different SIC’s in software where it’s available. It’s definitely important and worthwhile

I actually have no problem with that Agoura SLO. The question I have is with respect to the Plexi.

That is arguably the most important amp in the platform and something's clearly wrong with it - but I don't see any discussion around it.

I think if I am not mistaken it does not have a bright cap for one , which will have a pretty good affect on how aggressive you can get it

yes, but did you try choosing an alternate Stadium cab and muting it to see how it affects the sound? I'm just curious as the SIC design strategy is "weird" on the Stadium.

I haven’t tested but I am curious to hear (similarly how it handles multiple cabs).

It's not the bright cap - it sounds just right to me in terms of brightness. But when you attack it aggressively - it can go splat ... which is odd.

Interestingly enough I didn’t like the HX model so assumed I wouldn’t like this either but I actually do. Would’ve been nice with at bright cap/switch too, but it surprised me how much I actually like it

You know what I'm saying right? When you use your own IR (IR block), the Stadium uses the SIC associated with the matching cab for that amp. If you add a cab block and mute it, it will use the SIC of that muted cab. As I understand it.

They're always very reluctant to give us useful things like this! But personally... I can count the number of times I ever used the ripple control on one hand!!

absolutely and when I flip SICs in the amp in the Fractal world the difference in sound is drastic.

I know what sound you're talking about. It seems to be related to the presence control. I have it on 7 and can strum pretty hard and don't hear it. If I set it higher, then it starts to become noticeable. At 10, it sounds kind of broken. It may depend on how hot your pickups are. I kind of wish the hype knob would dial this out, but it actually makes it worse since it adds gain.

I've always thought the HX model has a weird presence control. I've never liked it above 5 otherwise it almost sounds like an active control.

You just need to add a little Hum to balance it out

I just fuckin hate those parameters. It’s not on the damn amp lol I have no use for that shit. The amp model either sounds good with normal EQ options or it doesn’t and that’s how I choose the models I use

Do you guys just turn ripple and hum to 0 always? Or leave at the default? Both default to 5 on most models.

I have a hard time hearing ripple at all, but hum definitely sounds like the description above to me. I have to admit I kind of like what it does to the texture of the distortion on some of the tweed models though. Sometimes.

I have to agree. Eq is all I use. an eq block within the amp in the Fractal world is gold. IRL an mxr 10 band before the amp input always suits just as well for me. If I can't get what I want I move onto the next model.
