Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

The icon is 🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣

The interesting thing is the sheep with the clipped wave form - that clipped wave form (or should it be a waaaave form as a sheep is involved) could mean this is a stomp box clone, not an amp? But as it’s then going straight into a speaker cabinet I might be overthinking this!

As my previous system was a Kemper, the concept of being able to clone distortion pedals is cool for me as I’ll be able to run them into an amp (either another capture or modelled). I couldn’t do that on Kemper - there was no way to capture a pedal unless it was part of an overall chain and (afaik) the mk2 doesn’t alter that.

Hopefully it won’t sound too baaaad.

Sorry.

I know the FB group gets some stick here (and often with good reason) but I still check it occasionally.

Saw this earlier from NAMM so hopefully we’ll get some details on Proxy over the next day or two :)

In case some kid finds this post and wonders what on earth a sheep has to do with proxy.

Drive pedal captures on other platforms have been a thing for years.

I am guessing they could either have separate drive vs amp capture blocks, or maybe just the icon changing based on the type of capture.

That sheep icon is perfect for this though. Can we start calling it the Dolly block? 🐑

Probably an icon change when you make the capture - like you can with QC

I think it's because proxy will be able to clone things that aren’t strictly audio (time based effects) so there separating them that way. But we’ll see :beer

Indeed. As far as we know, Proxy will do amp, amp+cab, preamp and distortion pedals on its first iteration.

@Digital Igloo Is there any additional information on when the Stadium Floor is releasing? I know for myself, I was hoping something would be announced now that NAMM is here and the XL is starting to receive serious updates
I believe any day now. Think I saw someone got there's already but I can't find the link.

Paul was supposed to demo Proxy clones during our daily 1pm demo but we needed another couple of days to iron out everything, sadly. They're in there, and they're running. 1.3, shooting for March (fingers crossed!).

That and we're all sheep following in the footsteps of Kemper. The main difference with Proxy at this point is that Line 6 doesn't pretend to have invented something we clearly didn't... and our ad copy isn't hyperbolic ChatGPT-generated slop, of course.

I'm toally happy with the sounds I've been getting out of the Stadium models, but I'm really excited about proxy. For me it's about simplicity, I'm not a pro, and while I can dial things in to sound good there are certainly professionals out there who can do better or be more nuanced. If Signal Theory or the guys from Bethel do total proxies of their live rigs, amps, cabs and mics all baked in that I can just treat a a backline for effects I think I'll be totally happy with that. I also suspect that having amps, cabs and mics baked in together will have some cohesive magic sauce that could very well be better or more authentic than combing the components digitally.
