Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Nice real life Showcase use example from Natalie Imbruglia's guitarist.

He reports an issue for his intended use, at the moment, therefore the video title.

This is excellent content. Great to have a pro step through his setup and then hear it in the mix.

After the gig today I'm digging the Stadium but I've moved to using my Synergy Syn1 with the Marshall JMP preamp in a loop of the Stadium because modeling still doesn't do it for me like tubes. The Stadium's Marshalls are pretty good but still doesn't have the warmth in the tone not mention sorely lacking in dynamics and feel of tubes.

These kids think they trademarked a couple of integers.

(But I think getting pissed when adults say "67" has become as much a part of the meme as "67" itself. Even more so than with other memes. Some newscaster made a comment about it and the word got out.)
Went to a birthday party this weekend in Arizona and one of the kids there was LIVID when adults mentioned 6-7: "6-7 died in 2025!"

The obvious solution to every dumb kids' meme is for adults to embrace it immediately, effectively rendering it useless.

Yes, all of those things drive me absolutely bonkers as well. They'll get better.

Small issues aside, I love how players take a new tool and try to use it in original, less obvious ways, expanding the potential, pushing the boundaries.

His idea of playing a "mute" showcase song only for snapshots changes, manually starting the song after the count in he gets in the in-ear, is simple but clever.

Something any player in a band that use a click can do.

Showcase was designed to do all sorts of things besides play to tracks, including things where audio isn't loaded at all. We just haven't gotten there yet.

But yes, we fully expect our users to come up with use cases we haven't thought of yet. It's really fun when that happens.

I love it when they get mad at adults for saying 6 7. If we all pitch in we can obliterate this meme in weeks. Just start greeting your kids like this when you pick them up from school

Obvious for a No Cap wig. Bonus points for the FRFR tie-in.

A middle school teacher at the party walked into his class one day and said "6-7, amirite?!" and did the cheesy finger guns with a wink. He never heard "6-7" in that class again.

@Digital Igloo You may already be aware of this, but I've noticed a distinct bug in some of my patches using identical amps on the same path. I've used two identical deluxe reverbs with identical dual speaker blocks split left and right on path 2A and 2B. The split and join are both hard-panned. I've tried both copying and pasting the blocks and creating both amp and cab blocks from scratch, but once there are two identical amps, one of them begins to sound different, like some computation has been doubled or a similar type of effect. From what I've seen in other patches, this won't happen with different amps, and I've tried a similar setup with identical amps separated on paths 1 and 2 but still hard-panned. In those cases, there were no issues.

That's interesting.
Does it behave the same if you place only one cab after the join or even no cab at all?

My kid LOVES it when I show up at the bus stop dressed like Colonel Sanders. :rofl

Crooked bow tie non-optional.

Are the 1/4 outputs actually balanced?

There was only a small section in the manual that implies it here:

  • Helix Stadium’s 1/4” outputs are balanced/unbalanced; that is, they can accommodate both balanced TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) and unbalanced TS (Tip-Sleeve) cables.

I just wanted some additional confirmation.

They're impedance balanced.
