Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

I will admit I fall under the "IT'S LINE 6, IT IS INFERIOR" mindset sometimes. You go on to listen to a YT video and those type of comments are plentiful. It makes me second guess my ears šŸ˜‚ however, every time I fire up the stadium it brings a smile to my face! I can only imagine how this will develop and I look forward to it!
It’s an unfortunate stigma L6 has. I’m not sure why other than people tend to put things in ideological boxes and then put on the cheerleading outfit for their favorite brand. L6 gear is being used by a lot of people who make a living playing. Look at many pro boards, especially studio guys and you’ll see a Line 6 pedal of some sort. That’s not going to happen with ā€œinferiorā€ gear. Maybe it’s because they aren’t ā€œboutiqueā€? I admit I have my biases but when it comes to Line 6 I really don’t feel that their gear is inferior at all and in fact I would argue in several ways some of their gear is much better than brands who some say are far superior.

Once I did that - it sounded fine. But then, there was nothing further left on the knob to go - it's all maxed out.

How do I make a Helix look like my car stereo from 1992?

Well, in all honesty, and with all the respect Eric certainly deserves, the general layout and concept of whatever Floor-Pods and the Helix incarnations can already be seen in Boss' GT-10. Sure, it's severely limited by technical aspects in comparison, but that's the age and nothing else.

Now, I'm absolutely fine if someone said that Boss started with a pretty decent UI concept but it took others (such as Line 6) to refine and improve the idea - whereas Boss themselves decided to completely mess things up. Yet, they were the first in many aspects.

Also, there are only so many ways to "skin a cat". (JFC I hate that term).

I encountered an issue today I was changing presets and everything changed, the layout, the preset loaded, switches changed status, etc but the sound remained stuck on the preset I left the unit on last night. Everything else seemed to be working though - changing the input impedance was working but changing the input trim was not.

I had Stadium running for two days straight ( :clint ), and yesterday night I left it on the clip screen of the I the oldano factory preset I think.

The Rev in Stadium is VERY good. I came out of the gate bitching about Stadium not having a Recto and it kinda shut me up. Those contour and aggression controls are EFFECTIVE.

I also have to give L6 the nod on the 2203. I’m not saying Fractal can’t match it, but there’s just a little extra mojo in the Stadium 2203x that I haven’t figured out how to tease out of the AM4. I could see L6 pulling of a great 1959 eventually too.
So you're now favoring the Stadium over AM4? šŸ˜€

Thinking of keeping it again?

The thing with fractal is that if you don't like an amp model....you have so many more to replace that flavor.

The stadium isn't lacking in amps but the new models aren't not as extensive as fractal.....and not that they should or ever will be.

Just more of a blow if you don't jive with an amp in the stadium as there is less option to replace it with something similar
