Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

You can actually get a lot of mileage out of the HX delays and reverbs, but ideally you'd use a parallel path for them so you could, say, deliberately EQ them and apply other FX without the dry signal being affected.
With the limitation of the OG Helix of one split per path only lifted, that alone could potentially improve your FX life (whereas on the OG HX I always found myself having to use the split path for something else). But it's still not exactly instant gratification.

I still find myself doing some "manual intervention" here and there on the Stadium but nowhere near where I felt I had to with the last gen stuff? Some small, light with things to sculpt tones as I like them. Still very much impressed and find myself wanting to play every day with it. So that's gotta be a good sign!

And it's got proper fx loops too 😂

On the topic of delay, the Cosmos Echo is IMO in top 3 space echo sims out there. I use it way more than I should.

On Agoura - still really enjoying the amps. The only casualty so far - not getting along with the Plexi for the crunchier tones I like but I think it’s less of a modeling issue and more that i prefer the brighter, stiffer 70s 1959 spec. The L6 Plexi feels like the softer, more Bassman-like filtering on the late 60s circuit which I’m not as into. This one falls apart too much for me. The SuperBass is amazing though.

I’d love to see L6 implement an “era” parameter on some of these circuits so you could switch between 60/70s/80s versions. :rofl

Anyone else had an issue when you plug in via USB, your Mac thinks it’s a keyboard?

I plugged mine in and it literally ate my computer. Like I’m going to have to purchase a new computer because it corrupted the hard drive and I can’t fix it.

Detecting as an input device is normal. No issues here on Mac wireless or wired. Pretty smooth experience overall.

I was going to use the stadium for my gig on Saturday, but after playing around with it for a while, I’ve decided to revert back to the AFX3 for the gig.

I’m having a few challenges on the stadium compared to the AFX3:

- Preset levelling. How is this supposed to work? I’ve been using the meter in my Focusrite software to aim at about -6db, and then set the output block block in the stadium to -4 for rhythm snapshots so my solo is not going above the preset levelling

- Decent delay settings for lead and rhythm. I’m used to the ducking options in the AFX3 to stop it getting ‘mushy’. Got something fairly good dialled in, but not fully happy

- Double tracking for live. I’ve been playing around with the double take and the ADT, but neither seem as good as the KMA Geminus I used to use. They’re OK, but seem to be missing something

- The poly shifter doesn’t seem as good as either the AFX3 or the Digitech Drop. Lots of strange artifacts regardless of setting (and noticeable lag if set to X stable)

- Parrallel paths for reverb and delay. I suspect its user error, but seems a lot more complex than it should be!

I’d love to use it for the gig, but these are the main issues holding me back. If anyone has any advice on any of these, please do let me know!
